U.S. Helicopter Fires on Ship Trying to Break Iran Blockade

A U.S. military helicopter fired a missile at the rudder of a Panama-flagged container ship in the Gulf of Oman after its crew ignored warnings to enforce a blockade on Iranian ports. The strike on the Vela Nova caused a fire that was extinguished without casualties, as all 17 crew members prepared to transfer to another civilian vessel.
