Israeli Ministries in Battle Over Billions in War Funding

C14’s Noam Amir reports that as a war of revival continues across multiple fronts and the IDF has already begun a process of rehabilitation and preparing for its future needs, a renewed dispute is threatening to disrupt that work, according to the Defense Ministry. At the heart of the clash is a funding source for billions of shekels demanded by the Defense Ministry—money the Finance Ministry is in no hurry to release.

The Defense Ministry and IDF argue that Israel’s new security reality requires enormous investment in force buildup, procurement and military rehabilitation. Just last March, the government approved an increase of more than NIS 30 billion, but the money has yet to reach the Defense Ministry, which says the IDF’s buildup has now stalled. Against the backdrop of Israel’s purchase of new heavy-lift helicopters intended to replace the aging and worn-out Yasur fleet, Defense Ministry officials warn that without payment for the procurement, the Americans could move the production line to another military, pushing Israel to the back of the queue.

The Finance Ministry, meanwhile, argues that the IDF and Defense Ministry are exploiting the complex security situation and the election period to generate political pressure against Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich. Treasury officials say Smotrich managed the state budget responsibly through one of Israel’s most challenging periods, pointing to interest-rate cuts in recent months as evidence that the government has maintained its budgetary framework.

A Finance Ministry official told C14 on Tuesday: “The Defense Ministry and the IDF must not turn this dispute into an election carnival. These are sensitive and important issues, but at the same time, we are not prepared to turn the state budget into a tool in their hands without the oversight required by law, certainly not during an election period.” The comments come despite repeated warnings from Defense Ministry Director-General Amir Baram, who has rejected the Finance Ministry’s claims. The Defense Ministry argues that the IDF of 2026 cannot be run according to the budgetary assumptions of Israel before Oct. 7. “The war changed Israel’s security needs, the scale of reserve service, ammunition stockpiles and procurement requirements,” officials said. The warning comes as the defense establishment cautioned just this weekend that Iran is close to renewing hostilities.

Against the backdrop of the destruction of the Ali Taher Ridge, IDF officials say Hezbollah is looking for a way to return to the fight. “We need reservists, we need munitions and we need spare parts—and that does not include the force-buildup and training budget, which is critical to maintaining the military’s readiness.”

As in previous disputes, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will ultimately have to decide. Netanyahu met with opposition leader Yair Lapid Monday night and asked for opposition support to reopen the budget during the election period. Lapid, as he has in the past, turned the issue into a political confrontation and demanded that Netanyahu instead take the money from coalition funds allocated to the ultra-Orthodox parties. Once again, Lapid demonstrated that when it comes to leadership and Israel’s national security, he prefers the irresponsible refuge of political maneuvering.

Ten Illegal ‘Palestinians’ Attempt to Infiltrate Israel

Ten illegal entrants who crossed from the Bir Nabala area into Israeli territory were arrested after getting into a vehicle, police announced. The driver was also arrested on suspicion of transporting them. According to police, on the evening of Sept. 14, 2026, female IDF observers from Unit 636 operating in the Jerusalem Envelope Border Police sector identified ten suspects crossing into Israeli territory. Following the identification, Border Police soldiers were dispatched to the area and worked to locate the suspects with the assistance of the observers and technological and operational means.

During the operation, the suspects were spotted getting into a vehicle. The soldiers were directed toward the vehicle, stopped it and checked its occupants. The inspection revealed that all ten passengers were residents of Judea and Samaria who did not have the required permits to enter or remain in Israel. The ten illegal entrants and the driver were transferred to the Jerusalem Envelope Border Police for further questioning.

IDF and Shin Bet Eliminate Notorious Senior Hamas Terrorist

The IDF and Shin Bet announced Tuesday that Ahmed Batash, head of Hamas’s Jabalia Battalion in the terror group’s northern Gaza brigade, was eliminated overnight in a strike in the northern Gaza Strip. According to Israeli security officials, Batash had recently been working to rebuild Hamas’s capabilities and advance terror attacks against IDF soldiers and Israeli civilians, while systematically violating the ceasefire. His elimination comes after several days in which additional senior Hamas terrorists and operatives were targeted, including the head of the Khan Yunis Brigade and members of the terror group’s weapons-production apparatus.

Batash served as head of the Jabalia Battalion, part of Hamas’s northern Gaza brigade. In that role, he managed and organized weapons for the brigade and was involved in coordinating and advancing the supply of weapons and military equipment to Hamas terrorists. Israeli security officials said that in recent months he had also been working to rebuild capabilities damaged during the war.

The IDF and Shin Bet described the strike as an operation intended to remove an immediate threat. They said precautions were taken before and during the strike to minimize harm to civilians as much as possible. “Prior to and during the strike, steps were taken to minimize harm to civilians as much as possible, including the use of precise munitions and aerial surveillance,” they said. Israeli security officials added that forces remain deployed in Gaza in accordance with the agreement: “Security forces are deployed in the area in accordance with the agreement and will continue to operate to remove any threat.”

The elimination in northern Gaza follows a series of operations targeting Hamas’s remaining leadership and efforts to rebuild its military capabilities in recent days. Last week, Mohammed Abd al-Salam Yazouri, head of Hamas’s Khan Yunis Brigade and a member of the terror group’s senior military council, was eliminated. Hamas confirmed his death, and according to the IDF, he was involved in the Oct. 7 massacre and had recently been working to rebuild the brigade’s infrastructure and advance operations against Israeli forces.

According to the IDF, Hudaifa Muammar and Mohammed Bahjat Rashi, two terrorists connected to Yazouri’s activities, were also eliminated. The strike on Yazouri was particularly significant because of his senior position within Hamas: Beyond heading one of the terror group’s principal brigades, he was among the remaining members of its senior military leadership in Gaza following a long series of eliminations during the war.

Another elimination was carried out Sunday, this time in the Tel al-Hawa neighborhood of Gaza City. An aircraft struck a vehicle carrying two Hamas terrorists, Hassan Ali Abu Nada and Abd al-Rahim Ahmed Khalil Hawa. According to the IDF, both belonged to Hamas’s weapons-production apparatus, worked on developing weapons and were involved in advancing attacks against Israeli forces. The military said the two had also recently been working to restore Hamas’s operational capabilities. In additional operations announced by the IDF, Mu’amen Jaber al-Sayed Abu Labda, a terrorist in Hamas’s Rafah Brigade who headed its sniper apparatus, was eliminated, along with Ismail Ibrahim Darwish Qandil, a Nukhba terrorist who, according to the military, participated in the Oct. 7 massacre.

Alongside the eliminations, developments on the ground in recent days have underscored just how fragile the ceasefire remains. Earlier this month, an IDF engineering vehicle struck a Hamas explosive device near the Yellow Line in the northern Gaza Strip. No Israeli soldiers were wounded. The IDF described the incident as “a blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement by the Hamas terrorist organization.” In response, the military struck Hamas infrastructure overnight that it said had been used to advance terror attacks against Israeli civilians and IDF soldiers.

Alongside the airstrikes, the IDF continues operating against Hamas infrastructure remaining in areas under Israeli control. In recent days, the military also announced that it had completed the destruction of a Hamas tunnel network in the Beit Hanoun area of northern Gaza. The operation is part of the continuing effort to dismantle underground terror infrastructure remaining near areas where Israeli forces are deployed.

Changes made: Preserved the original eight-paragraph structure and all substantive details while smoothing the English for an American audience. I used “head” rather than “commander” for Hamas leadership roles, kept Tuesday and the overnight timing in the opening, and preserved the IDF/Shin Bet quotations and the article’s broader context about Hamas’s efforts to rebuild under the ceasefire.

Arab Reports: Israel Quietly Aiding Saudis Against Houthis

Arab sources reported Tuesday that Israel is secretly assisting Saudi Arabia in its war against the Houthi terror organization. The report comes as tensions between the two sides reach a peak, with the Houthis recording significant battlefield gains. Neither Saudi Arabia nor Israel has confirmed or denied the report.

Just hours earlier, Saudi authorities said air raid sirens sounded in the cities of Jeddah, Taif, and even in Mecca—Islam’s holiest city—following a Houthi missile launch. Shortly after the alerts, Saudi officials announced the threat had passed.

The strike follows the Houthi terror group’s successful seizure last week of territory in the Bab al-Mandab strait. After the takeover, Yemeni government forces lost extensive positions along Yemen’s western coast.

Following the defeat, Yemeni government forces linked the nature of the attack and the Houthis’ ability to mobilize forces and execute parallel operations to what they described as direct support from elements and experts of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards and their regional allies.

These events are unfolding as Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman traveled to Egypt, across the Red Sea. According to Arab media, the visit is taking place against the backdrop of an attempt to form a new military coalition against the Houthis in Yemen, who have carried out several successful operations recently.

Thailand Slashes Visa-Free Entry Period to 30 Days

Planning an extended getaway to Thailand? Take note of the updated immigration protocols: effective Tuesday, Thailand has officially reduced its visa-free stay allowance from 60 days down to just 30. The adjustment forms part of a broader overhaul of the kingdom’s border entry regulations, affecting tourists arriving from dozens of nations—including Israel.

Over the past two years, travelers had grown accustomed to arriving in Thailand without pre-arranging a visa and remaining for up to two months under an expanded visa-exemption framework enacted in July 2024. That arrangement has now concluded; incoming tourists utilizing the visa waiver will receive an authorized stay of up to 30 days upon arrival.

For travelers currently in the country, those who entered Thailand on or before September 14 under the previous regulations may complete their visits in accordance with the validity stamped in their passports upon entry.

Stays longer than a single month remain possible. Travelers seeking to extend their stay beyond the 30-day limit can apply directly to Thailand’s Immigration Bureau for an authorized extension. However, approval is neither guaranteed nor automatic and remains entirely at the discretion of local immigration authorities.

Travelers should also prepare mandatory documentation before departure. A visa exemption does not confer an automatic right of entry into Thailand; immigration border officers may require arriving passengers to present a valid passport, verified accommodation details, proof of onward travel departing within the permitted stay, and, in certain instances, evidence of adequate financial means.

Additionally, all non-Thai citizens must complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) online before arrival, providing standard personal information and itinerary details regarding their upcoming stay.

  • Eisenkot as IDF Chief Pushed to Transfer Land to the ‘PA’

Eisenkot as IDF Chief Pushed to Transfer Land to the ‘PA’

Col. (res.) Hezi Nehama, former commander of the Menashe Regional Brigade, asserted on Tuesday in a radio interview with Yinon Magal on 103FM that former IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eizenkot sought in 2017 to advance the transfer of land from Area C to Areas A and B as “confidence-building measures” toward the ‘Palestinians’.

Nehama recounted that the discussion occurred toward the end of the terror wave known as the “lone-wolf intifada,” while the two were standing on a hilltop in Sa-Nur. According to Nehama, he had proposed to Eizenkot that Israel reassert its presence in the region from which the communities of Ganim, Kadim, Sa-Nur, and Homesh were evacuated during the 2005 Disengagement plan.

“Gadi Eizenkot portrays himself as straightforward and right-leaning. I was the Menashe brigade commander,” Nehama said. “I stood with Gadi Eizenkot at the end of the intifada, what was termed the lone-wolf intifada, in 2017. He was chief of staff, I was brigade commander, and we were standing on the hilltop in Sa-Nur.”

According to Nehama, he turned to Eizenkot and told him: “Chief of Staff, in 2005 we removed the communities of Ganim, Kadim, Sa-Nur, and Homesh from here. It is time to restore our foothold here, because this is Area C.” However, Nehama claimed that Eizenkot’s response was entirely the opposite: “He grabs the head of Central Command and the division commander and says to them in these exact words: ‘This is the place where we can grant more benefits to the ‘Palestinians’. We can take more Area C lands and transfer them to become Area A and B territories.’”

Radio host Yinon Magal pressed to clarify the account, asking: “He was saying to convince the Prime Minister to concede more territory, to transfer it into Areas A and B?” Nehama confirmed: “Yes. Confidence-building measures following the lone-wolf intifada. That is the man.”

IDF Eliminates Two Senior Hamas Terrorists in Gaza

Israeli forces eliminated two terrorists in Hamas’s military wing on Monday during pinpoint strikes in Khan Younis and Gaza City. According to the IDF Spokesperson, both terrorists were actively orchestrating hostile plots against Israeli forces and civilians, posing an imminent operational threat.

In the strike conducted in Khan Younis, forces neutralized Rafat Abu Zamar, a terrorist company commander within the operations headquarters of Hamas’s military wing. Abu Zamar directed and oversaw training regiments for terror squads ahead of the October 7 massacre, and in recent months continued training terrorists and developing the terror group’s combat proficiencies.

In a concurrent strike carried out in Gaza City, the IDF eliminated Muhammad Khader Fahmi Agour, a terrorist in Hamas’s military wing who specialized in the domestic research and production of weaponry for the organization.

The IDF Spokesperson stated that both terrorists had recently worked to reconstitute depleted Hamas capabilities and advance terror plots in systematic breach of the existing ceasefire framework. Military officials emphasized that the strikes were executed to neutralize the immediate threat they posed. Before and during the operations, forces took extensive precautions to mitigate collateral damage and minimize harm to uninvolved civilians, including deploying precision-guided munitions and conducting continuous aerial surveillance. Southern Command forces remain deployed throughout the operational sector in accordance with the agreement and will continue to act decisively to remove emerging threats.

NBA Star: ‘Free ‘Palestine’ from Hamas and Iran’

NBA forward Kyle Kuzma, who previously shared the court with Israeli star Deni Avdija on the Washington Wizards, addressed pro-‘Palestinian’ demonstrations in Mexico City on Tuesday via social media platform X, urging protesters to broaden their calls for “free ‘Palestine’” to encompass liberation from Hamas and Iranian-backed terror organizations.

    Video: social media

Kuzma reshared a video clip capturing a rally in the Mexican capital where crowds chanted “Palestine will be free,” accompanying the footage with a pointed statement: “If you believe ‘Palestinians’ deserve freedom, say it clearly. Freedom from Hamas too. Freedom from Iranian-backed terror. Freedom from leaders who use civilians as shields.”

Continuing his remarks, Kuzma noted that “compassion cannot be selective,” directly challenging pro-‘Palestinian’ activists who direct exclusive scrutiny toward Israel while completely ignoring the culpability of Hamas and regional terror factions for the suffering of ‘Palestinian’ civilians.

Kuzma played three seasons alongside Dani Avdija in Washington, where the two logged substantial minutes as key teammates. Now, reacting directly to footage of anti-Israel street demonstrations abroad, the basketball star chose to deliver a clear-eyed counter-message: any genuine call for ‘Palestinian’ human rights must demand an end to Hamas rule and the malign grip of the Iranian terror axis.

Meanwhile, security forces apprehended a senior operative of the Fatah faction in Tulkarm on Monday, culminating an intensive intelligence-driven search conducted over recent weeks. The operative, Muhammad Ibrahim Shehadeh, had been sought as a high-value wanted individual over suspected involvement in directing hostile operations, planning and executing terror attacks, and illicit arms trafficking.

The IDF reiterated that security forces will maintain proactive, offensive counterterrorism operations across the Judea and Samaria Division to disrupt emerging threats and guarantee the safety of residents and the citizens of Israel.
