Ben Gurion Airport’s Terminal 3 Set for Major Expansion

Israel Airports Authority published a major tender today (Wednesday) for a massive expansion of Terminal 3 at Ben Gurion Airport, led by Transportation and Road Safety Minister Brig. Gen. (res.) Miri Regev. The dramatic move comes as passenger traffic continues to climb and international airlines return to Israel. It’s one of the largest and most significant infrastructure projects undertaken at Ben Gurion in recent years, designed to increase the airport’s ground capacity to roughly 40 million passengers a year.

The project will build a new wing on the eastern side of Terminal 3, covering about 63,000 square meters, significantly expanding Ben Gurion’s capacity and service capabilities. The project includes two main structures: an expanded terminal building (GT1)—a new four-story structure spanning roughly 41,000 square meters that will include spacious passenger halls, about 86 new check-in counters joining the existing 120, retail and duty-free areas, restaurants, offices, training rooms, storage facilities, technical rooms, and protected spaces.

The second structure is an advanced baggage screening and sorting facility (DP3)—a state-of-the-art logistics building covering about 22,000 square meters that will house Ben Gurion’s new screening and sorting system. The building will include an operational hall, mezzanine level, offices, storage facilities, rest rooms, locker rooms, technical rooms, and protected spaces, constructed from concrete with high-quality architectural finishes. The ground-level expansion of Terminal 3 is an integral part of Ben Gurion’s overall development plan, alongside construction of the fifth pier, and is designed to meet the expected growth in passenger traffic in coming decades.

Transportation and Road Safety Minister Miri Regev addressed the move: “The open skies policy, along with the return of airlines and expected growth in flight demand, require us to continue investing in Israel’s aviation infrastructure. The Terminal 3 expansion is a strategic investment that will ensure the public receives advanced, safe, and efficient service in the years ahead.”

Israel Airports Authority Chairman Maj. Gen. (res.) Yiftach Ron-Tal emphasized the project’s importance: “The Terminal 3 expansion project reflects our commitment to ensuring the State of Israel is strategically prepared for the coming decades. We are investing today in national infrastructure that will allow Ben Gurion to continue serving as Israel’s main gateway, while maintaining the highest standards of safety, security, and service.”

Rabbi Amos Guetta Fatally Stabbed at Yeshiva He Taught

Rabbi Amos Guetta, a well-known rabbi in Netanya in his 70s, was stabbed to death today (Wednesday) in the yeshiva where he taught in the city. It is suspected that the rabbi’s student, who knew him and was there as part of a rehabilitation program, stabbed him, fled the scene and was later captured by the forces.

According to sources familiar with the details, the suspect in the stabbing is apparently a mentally unstable person who knew the rabbi, was part of his circle, and was even in a rehabilitation program there, our reporter Milan Amar reported.

Senior medic in the MDA motorcycle unit, Maor Brantz, and MDA medic Yonatan Yankelevich, said: “We saw the injured man unconscious, without a pulse not breathing, with serious stab wounds to his body. We gave him life-saving medical treatment, which included prolonged CPR, and evacuated him to the hospital in critical condition, and we are fighting for his life.”

Netanya Mayor Avi Salama paid tribute to him: “With great sadness and great pain, I received the bitter news of the passing of the holy Kabbalist, Rabbi Amos Guetta, a tremendous scholar, who was a great light and pillar of Torah and kindness in the city. For many years, he illuminated the path of tens of thousands of residents, brought hearts closer, strengthened souls, and was a source of advice, blessing, and salvation for families in Israel and around the world.”

The Chief Rabbi of Israel and President of the Chief Rabbinate Council, Rabbi Kalman Meir Bar, described his great contribution to the city of Netanya: “For decades of spiritual leadership, he served as a beacon and a pillar of strength for the multitudes of the city’s residents, who flocked to his door every day to seek blessings, wise advice, and resourcefulness. He was privileged to combine the simple and the secret, and to combine immense and extraordinary knowledge of the Torah’s mysteries with great acts of kindness and ardent and vibrant worship of God.”

This incident joins a string of serious bloodshed that occurred within just a short hour: In Bigor, a 21-year-old man who was found unconscious in a vehicle was shot to death, and in Shfaram, a 24-year-old man who was injured in another shooting incident was pronounced dead . In both cases, MDA teams arriving at the scenes were forced to declare the injured dead.

IDF Eliminates Hamas Terrorists, Destroys Launchers in Gaza

The IDF struck targets in northern Gaza over the past week, killing four terrorists from Hamas’s military wing who were advancing terror plots against Israeli forces operating in the Gaza Strip.

    The operatives killed were:

    • Wael Mahmoud Ali Labad – anti-tank operative in Hamas’s military wing
    • Maaz Mohammed Hassan Ahmed – anti-tank operative in Hamas’s military wing
    • Sameh Abu Kamil – platoon ‘commander’ in Hamas’s military wing
    • Akram Ashraf Hamad Labad – sniper operative in Hamas’s military wing

The IDF also struck and destroyed rocket launchers and launch sites two days ago that Hamas had used in attempts to advance terror plots against IDF forces and Israeli civilians.

IDF forces under Southern Command are deployed across the area in accordance with the ceasefire agreement and will continue operating to remove any immediate threat.

Netanyahu: “Won’t Rule Out Jewish Settlement in Gaza”

The complex relationship between war goals and the results on the ground took center stage during a fascinating segment of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s interview this evening on the program “The Patriots.” Panel member Dr. Avishai Ben Haim raised the subject, noting that current strategic achievements—including control over Gaza, a security buffer zone in Lebanon, and a joint strike with the U.S. in Iran—have surpassed the threshold of the “absolute victory” declared by the administration at the start of the campaign. In response, Netanyahu detailed the defense establishment’s fulfillment of the established goals, while providing a glimpse into his diplomatic tactics vis-à-vis the world.

Netanyahu presented the three central goals that guided the cabinet and the fighting echelons in the Gaza Strip, detailing the status of each:

    • The Return of the Hostages: The Prime Minister defined the efforts to retrieve our hostages as a paramount objective, adding with satisfaction: “No one believed in it.”

    • Eliminating the Military Threat: As the second goal, Netanyahu noted ensuring that no military threat remains from Gaza against the State of Israel. “And currently, there is none,” Netanyahu stated. As proof of full operational control and grip on the territory, the Prime Minister mentioned recent maneuvers: “We recently eliminated Izz al-Din al-Haddad, and what was the reaction? Zero. We control them and have them in our grip.”

    • Collapsing the Civilian Government: Netanyahu defined this as the third goal of the campaign, promising: “And we will get there too.”

During the interview, panel members raised the questions occupying the right wing of the coalition, wondering if the issue of “voluntary emigration” of Gaza residents is still on the table. Additionally, the Prime Minister was asked about the possibility of Jewish resettlement in the Gaza region, especially in light of Minister Bezalel Smotrich’s remarks that preparations are underway to establish communities—contrary to Netanyahu’s past statements that such a move was unrealistic. Netanyahu chose not to answer directly, but offered a practical worldview: “The question is, do I prefer to act or to talk? And yes, I prefer not to comment.”

The Prime Minister concluded the diplomatic portion of the discussion by explaining how he manages the external diplomatic pressures exerted on Jerusalem. Netanyahu described a strategy that requires a combination of tactical flexibility alongside standing firm on red lines: “Choose exactly the places where you must stand up to the world. Where possible, say yes, and where it is necessary to stand firm on interests, say no.”

  • IDF Imposes Harsh House Arrests in Judea, Samaria

IDF Imposes Harsh House Arrests in Judea, Samaria

Central Command chief Major General Avi Bluth has issued a wave of unusually harsh administrative restriction orders in recent days against Jewish towns in Judea and Samaria. The orders confine residents to full house arrest for months, alongside severe additional restrictions like daily check-ins at police stations.

About a year and a half ago, Defense Minister Israel Katz ordered a halt to the use of administrative detention orders against Jewish residents in Judea and Samaria under his authority. But the power to issue other administrative orders—sometimes no less severe—remained in Bluth’s hands, and he’s been using it with increasing frequency.

    Photo: Chaim Goldberg, Flash90

“The current wave of orders is unusual both in severity and in who they target. The orders effectively imprison people within the walls of homes that are often not even their own. Among those hit with the orders are married men with children, a yeshiva student at an outpost, and two young men who got engaged just days earlier and are now barred from even holding their wedding.

    Photo: Not available

Bluth issued an administrative order against Tal Yanon Dardik—married father of three and manager of the sheep farm at Kfar Tarfon in the Binyamin region. Absurdly, Dardik is required to spend the next six months at his mother-in-law’s home, a widow who is deaf. In an urgent letter sent through his attorneys at the Honenu legal aid organization, Dardik explained that his mother-in-law was never consulted about this and her condition doesn’t allow for additional people staying in the house.

Meanwhile, Shin Bet investigators delivered another administrative order to Elishiv Bruchi—a yeshiva student from the Chesed L’Avraham in Har Hatzor in Binyamin. Bruchi studied and worked at the outpost, which is an established and legal location in every respect. Bizarrely, he received a full house arrest order for four complete months.

    Photo: Not available

Additional administrative orders were delivered in recent days to two residents of Binyamin and Gush Etzion. Moshe Goldis—a 20-year-old shepherd from Givat Makneh Avraham who was recently wounded in an Arab attack in the grazing areas—and Malachi Lehongdim, a 21-year-old from Givat Tel Talpiot. Both were placed under absolute house arrest for six full months.

The order signed against Goldis was issued just one day after his engagement. Lehongdim also received a similar order just days after getting engaged, and now both are barred from preparing for their weddings, booking a hall, or even signing a rental contract because the order prevents them from leaving their homes even for these purposes.

    Photo: Not available

“I was shocked yesterday to receive without any warning a delusional administrative order that strips away my freedom in the harshest way possible,” Elishiv Bruchi said today. “In the middle of your life, they come to you, and with the stroke of a pen, impose restrictions on you not far from prison without you having any ability whatsoever to defend yourself against them.”

According to him, “Administrative orders that are supposed to be a preventive tool for ticking bombs have become a tool for wholesale punishment against anyone conducting legal activity that the security establishment doesn’t like. These are draconian and inhumane orders that need to disappear from the world, all the more so under a right-wing government,” Bruchi added.

    Photo: Oren Ben Hakon, Flash90

An IDF spokesperson responded: “Restriction orders are signed following a Shin Bet recommendation based on intelligence and evidentiary infrastructure submitted for review by the military commander in the area. The recommendation indicates that security reasons exist for issuing the order to prevent the danger posed by that individual. The military commander examines requests to issue orders in a thorough, substantive, and serious manner, while giving weight to the consequences resulting from issuing the order.

“The IDF uses all tools at its disposal to prevent and handle nationalist crime incidents of all types, and the use of this tool has proven effective, as reflected in the decline in the number of incidents. Such incidents are serious in themselves, divert forces from defense and offensive missions, and harm the security of the area. It should be clarified that those subject to the orders can submit individual requests, and these are examined. The military commander’s decisions are subject to judicial review, which examines the decision on its merits and the intelligence information underlying it. Due to the confidentiality of the information and invasion of privacy, we cannot elaborate on what is attributed to those subject to the order.”

Outrage After Activist Charged for Blocking Gaza Aid Trucks

Prosecutors have charged Reut Ben Haim, one of the leaders of the “Tzav 9” movement, after she blocked humanitarian aid trucks headed to Gaza. According to the indictment, Ben Haim “caused a disturbance without reasonable cause, in a manner likely to breach the peace.”

Knesset member Yulia Malinovsky (Yisrael Beiteinu) responded to the indictment, saying: “This indictment against Reut Ben Haim from Tzav 9 should be filed against the prime minister and cabinet ministers who approved and still approve this disgrace called humanitarian aid to Gaza. Shame and disgrace.”

Ben Haim, a mother of eight, has long led Tzav 9’s activities against allowing humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, arguing that the aid strengthened Hamas and prolonged the war. The blocking of aid trucks is a protest action that began on January 24, 2024. The protesters, led by Tzav 9, “Mothers of the Fighters,” and “Tikva Forum,” blocked trucks at the Kerem Shalom crossing, Nitzana crossing, Ashdod port, and on major highways. Their goal was to prevent the transfer of aid in order to pressure Hamas to release the hostages.

Attending the ceremony were Israel Railways Board Chairman Moshe Shemoni, Acting CEO Avner Flor, Modiin Mayor Haim Bibas, the city’s chief rabbi, members of the Marciano family, railway employees, and other guests who came to honor her memory.

Noa Marciano, daughter of Israel Railways employee Avi Marciano, served as an observer at the Nahal Oz outpost. During the October 7, 2023 terror attack, she was abducted to Gaza and murdered in captivity more than a month later, on November 14.

During the ceremony, family members and friends shared stories about Noa’s character, her sense of mission, and her desire to contribute to the country. They mentioned her “gratitude journal,” where she wrote down meaningful thoughts and moments from her life—a notebook that became a symbol of the optimism and values that guided her after her death.

Her father, Avi Marciano, said the decision to memorialize his daughter specifically through a synagogue holds special meaning for the family. “Now we can continue to honor Noa through prayer and Torah study that will take place in the synagogue in her memory. I thank all the partners at Israel Railways who accompanied us, supported the family, and helped bring our Noa’s memorial project to fruition,” he said.

Transportation and Road Safety Minister Miri Regev said the synagogue will serve as “a house of remembrance, of hope, and of continuity.” According to her, “Noa, who was kidnapped and murdered while fulfilling her mission defending the State of Israel, will now be memorialized in a place that spreads light, faith, and unity. The Israel Railways family and the Marciano family are teaching us all how to transform great pain into a project of life and values.”

Transportation Ministry Director General Moshe Ben Zaken noted that this memorial expresses the spirit of mutual responsibility within the transportation family. “The synagogue will serve as a place of prayer, strength, and living memory, and will allow thousands of passengers and employees to stop for a moment, remember Noa and her courage, and continue to carry her legacy.”

Israel Railways Board Chairman Moshe Shemoni said he has accompanied the Marciano family since October 7. “I saw the enormous pain alongside the courageous choice to continue and tell Noa’s story. There is no place that symbolizes continuity more than a synagogue that will bear her name. In every prayer heard here, Noa’s name will also be heard.”

The synagogue is expected to serve train passengers, station employees, and area residents, while simultaneously serving as a permanent memorial site honoring Noa Marciano, so that her story and legacy will accompany the thousands who pass through daily.

Herzog Warns: Israel at ‘Fateful Crossroads’

President Isaac Herzog addressed the 22nd Herzliya Conference on Tuesday and warned that Israel stands at a “fateful crossroads” regarding its shared future. Against the backdrop of the war and upcoming elections, the president called for an “Israeli Contract” and cautioned that escalating tensions could turn the election campaign into a “civil war.”

Herzog opened by addressing growing friction between Israel’s different communities and warned of eroding cohesion. “In our shared home there are cracks,” Herzog said. “If once we lived side by side, today there’s a feeling we’re living against each other. The friction between us is breaking all conventions.”

The president called for stopping the deterioration by rewriting the shared rules. “We must stop before these cracks reach the foundations,” he warned. He proposed an “Israeli Contract” based on three components: Rule of law—the president made clear there can be no selective enforcement or disregard for the law based on ideological reasons. “Without one law, there is no shared state,” he said, adding: “There is no sacred criminality. From any side.”

Belonging—Herzog emphasized that the democratic system must guarantee a place for everyone. “A citizen can lose an election, but not lose the state. He can win an election, and not think he got permission to erase half of society.” The future—the president called for turning social diversity into an advantage and building frameworks that will accommodate the changes taking place in the ultra-Orthodox, Arab, and peripheral sectors.

Against the backdrop of the election campaign, the president addressed leaders and the public with a demand for responsibility: “Elections are not a civil war. Elections are our way of deciding disputes without violence. They replace governments, they don’t replace a people.” He added that democracy requires the ability “to know how to win without trampling, and to know how to lose without dismantling.”

  • Netanyahu & Katz visit Lebanon as Hezbollah blackout lifted

Netanyahu & Katz visit Lebanon as Hezbollah blackout lifted

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz visited Lebanon today, marking their first trip to the country since Israel lifted its media blackout on military operations there.

The visit comes after weeks of restricted reporting on Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) activities in southern Lebanon. Israel had imposed the blackout to limit information about troop movements and operational details during its campaign against Hezbollah.

In his visit, Prime Minister Netanyahu said: “I come here together with the Defense Minister and with the Deputy Chief of Staff, and the Command Aluf and your commanders that I spoke with, the Division Commander and the Brigade Commanders, and I salute you. You did enormous work here, and essentially what we did – is we took the Iranian axis and began to crush it. We attacked Iran itself, something no one believed, and we removed an existential threat.

“The most important link in the Iranian axis was here – Hezbollah. There were 150 thousand missiles and rockets, which is the densest concentration of missiles and rockets on the planet. Today they have about 8% left. That’s still significant, but it’s no longer what it was. In your activity we eliminated 9,000 terrorists, hundreds of terrorists in recent weeks. And of course, the main thing we did – and this is what you are doing here – is to create buffer zones, security zones, not on our side of the border – on their side. So we are doing this in Lebanon. We did this in Gaza.”

In addition, Netanyahu talked about the deal with Lebanon and sent a stern warning toward Hezbollah and Iran. “Lebanon recognizes Israel, Israel recognizes Lebanon, and we’re also telling Iran and Hezbollah: get out of here, you have nothing to do here. There are two sovereign states, want to make peace between them, want to truly restore a reality of security and prosperity to the residents of the north and also to the residents of Lebanon. “You need to leave.” This is a slap in the face, this is a punch in the face of the Iranian axis, and it won’t necessarily pass quietly.

Neither the Prime Minister’s Office nor the Defense Ministry immediately provided details about location of the visit within Lebanon.

  • American Arrested in Israel on Suspicion of Spying for Iran

American Arrested in Israel on Suspicion of Spying for Iran

The Israel Police and the Israel Security Agency (Shabak/Shin Bet) today (Tuesday) completed a severe security investigation against a foreign national who operated on behalf of the Islamic Republic within Israeli territory. The suspect, an American citizen in his 20s, was arrested on June 9, 2026, following targeted indications received from international security agencies. He was interrogated on suspicion of maintaining contact with a foreign agent and severely harming state security. Today, a prosecutor’s statement was filed against him in court ahead of the submission of an indictment and a request for remand until the end of proceedings.

Illustration | Photo by: Nati Shohat/Flash90

The complex investigation, which was conducted under a sweeping gag order, was led by the Central Unit  of the Jerusalem District and the Interrogation Division of the Shabak. The findings of the investigation revealed that over the past few months, the suspect maintained continuous and clandestine contact with handlers representing Iranian intelligence agencies.

As part of his operation, the young man was required to carry out a series of missions on the ground, primarily focusing on the documentation, surveillance, and detailed photography of sensitive and strategic sites throughout the country. The investigation shows that the foreign national’s motive was financial: for every photography or collection mission he completed and transferred to his handlers, he received a monetary payment ranging from tens to hundreds of dollars.

    Illustration | photo by: Shutterstock

The suspect’s detention was extended from time to time by the court to allow Yamar and Shabak investigators to perform complementary technological and forensic actions and to establish a solid evidentiary infrastructure. Today, with the official conclusion of the investigation, the prosecutor’s statement was submitted, indicating the intention to file a severe criminal-security indictment against him in the coming days.

The head of investigations, Chief Inspector Amichai Panta from the Interrogation Division of Jerusalem Yamar, commented on the exposure of the case, stating: “In recent months, several defendants have been exposed for espionage on behalf of the enemy, some of whom committed these acts during a time of war, thereby assisting the enemy in realizing their plots inside Israeli territory. Together with the Israel Security Agency, we will continue to locate and expose offenses of this nature, and to arrest and prosecute anyone who harms or endangers the security of the state and its citizens.”

    Illustration | photo by: Shutterstock

This case joins a series of severe preventions carried out by the Police and the Shabak in recent months, exposing an increased and unprecedented Iranian effort to recruit agents inside Israel—both local citizens and foreign nationals who exploit their accessibility and the foreign passports in their possession to move freely and document sensitive infrastructure.

Earlier this month, the State Attorney’s Office submitted a severe indictment to the Tel Aviv District Court against Nissan Aviv from Bat Yam. The indictment attributes severe espionage offenses to Aviv, including contact with a foreign agent and delivering information to the enemy, after he provided sensitive information to a hostile entity via the Telegram application in exchange for monetary payment.
