IDF, Shin Bet Capture Hamas Internal Security Chief

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu commended a dramatic joint operational raid carried out in the heart of the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, during which Israeli security forces captured the senior Hamas commander heading the terror group’s internal security apparatus. Netanyahu emphasized that the operative was one of Hamas’s most pivotal commanders, directly responsible for concealing and transferring Israeli hostages while spearheading efforts to reconstitute the organization’s governing control and operational terror capabilities.

“I commend the Shin Bet and the IDF, who in a daring operation today arrested the head of Hamas’s internal security apparatus near his home in Gaza,” Netanyahu stated. “He is one of the highest-ranking Hamas leaders, responsible for concealing and transporting our hostages, hiding senior Hamas officials, force building, and attempts to restore the terror group’s capabilities. Recently, he worked to re-establish Hamas governance in Gaza, engaged in deception regarding the demilitarization of the Strip, and aided terror attacks against our troops and civilians. My directive remains clear: the State of Israel will continue hunting down all Hamas leaders and everyone who participated in the October 7 massacre.”

The Shin Bet (ISA) confirmed details of the joint operation executed under the command and operational lead of the Shin Bet alongside IDF Southern Command. Special forces launched a pinpoint sweep in the northern Gaza Strip to eliminate emerging threats, raiding a targeted structure in Gaza City to apprehend the senior terrorist, who commanded internal security operations across the entire enclave.

During the operation, the Israeli Air Force conducted precision strikes against multiple military targets in the sector to provide tactical cover and neutralize potential threats to the raiding party; the IDF confirmed no Israeli casualties were sustained. Security officials noted that the captured operative had recently orchestrated efforts to consolidate Hamas dominance in northern Gaza and plan terror plots against IDF units positioned along the Yellow Line.

Following his capture, the commander was extracted and transferred into Israeli sovereign territory for interrogation by the Shin Bet. Security establishment officials reiterated that the operation was designed to neutralize active threats, dismantle Hamas’s operational grip, and ensure Southern Command forces remain deployed to eliminate any emerging security risk.

Families Arrive in Eighth New Samaria Town in Under a Year

The new town of Noa has been established in northern Samaria, south of the communities of Ganim and Kadim. According to the Samaria Regional Council, this is the eighth community the council has established in the region in less than a year. The first families have arrived and begun building a new community.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by Samaria Governor Yossi Dagan, Culture and Sports Minister Miki Zohar, National Missions Minister Orit Strock, Diaspora Affairs and Combating Antisemitism Minister Amichai Chikli, and Knesset members Boaz Bismuth and Zev Haber (Zambish). During the event, a mezuzah was affixed, and the first residential structures in the town were inaugurated.

Noa was established south of Ganim and Kadim, communities that were evacuated as part of the disengagement plan and recently returned to the land. The Samaria Regional Council says the establishment of the town is intended to strengthen Jewish presence in northern Samaria and create continuity in the area.

The establishment of the community comes a year after a cabinet decision led by Ministers Israel Katz and Bezalel Smotrich, and as part of the “Reconnection Plan” being led by the Samaria Council. According to the council, the plan includes establishing 19 new communities in the northern Samaria area, alongside the “Million in Samaria Plan” to bring a million residents to the region.

Samaria Governor Yossi Dagan said at the ceremony: “Blessed is He who sets the boundary of the widow. There is no blessing more moving and appropriate for this moment. In a place where they sought to uproot and expel, today we merit building a new town and bringing pioneering families to the land. After years of stubborn struggle, northern Samaria is rising again.

“The establishment of Noa is a victorious Zionist answer to all those who thought resettlement would stop. From the four communities that were uprooted, we will grow into many towns, thriving communities, and thousands of families.”

Shira Bar-Gad, a mother of two who moved to the new town from Jerusalem, said: “We waited for this a long time; it’s exciting that it’s finally happening, that it’s turning from a hill with nothing on it into a community. Now we see the road they’re paving and the caravans that arrived—really exciting. Yehuda, my older son, is also excited and talks about it. When we visited my sister in her town, he said, ‘Right, there was nothing here once either?’”

Bereaved Families to Netanyahu: Don’t Backstab Our Heroes

Bereaved families from the Gevurah Forum released a video today (Monday) addressing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and cabinet members as preparations advance for foreign forces to enter the Gaza Strip. The families are demanding that security responsibility in the area remain solely with the IDF, reminding the government of commitments they say were made to them during the war.

The video is part of the bereaved families’ campaign against bringing foreign forces into the Strip. The family members, whose loved ones fell during the war, are asking the prime minister to honor his commitment that Israel’s security vis-à-vis Gaza will remain the IDF’s responsibility.

“Mr. Prime Minister, we are members of the Gevurah Forum, bereaved families. You promised us time and again that control of the Gaza Strip would be only in the hands of the IDF and not in the hands of any foreign entity. Our children went to battle because they loved life. They wanted children to be able to play peacefully on playgrounds; they wanted to bring security and peace to all of us. We will always grieve their loss, but at least let us know that in their deaths they enabled life,” the families say in the video.

They then address reports about the possibility of foreign forces entering the Strip and plans for its rehabilitation: “We’re hearing about bringing foreign forces into Gaza, we’re hearing about rebuilding the Strip. We demand that you honor your promise and show courage and heroism as our children showed in the war. Have we forgotten so quickly what happened before October 7th? Have we forgotten the massacre, the rape, the slaughter? Our children fought and gave their lives so that the people of Israel would live here forever.”

The families deliver a sharp message to the prime minister, asking him not to transfer security responsibility to an international entity. “Mr. Prime Minister, the blood of our children cries out: it is not in vain that we bear this pain day after day, and we ask—don’t stab our heroic children in the back.”

They conclude their appeal with a message to cabinet members as well: “Mr. Prime Minister, cabinet members, you committed multiple times that security in the Gaza Strip will be only in the hands of the Israel Defense Forces. We cannot rely on any foreign force—only the Israel Defense Forces.”

Participating in the video were Itzik Pitusi, father of Yishai; Haya Meir, mother of David; Tzurit Fenigstein, mother of Maoz; Roni Nisnowitz, father of Uri; Mimi Levy, mother of Tzvika Levia; Muriel Franco, mother of Kfir; Rabbi Yehoram and Vizua Eliyahu, parents of Yedidya; and Yehoshua Shani, father of Uri Mordechai.

The Gevurah Forum’s appeal comes as preparations advance for the possibility of foreign forces entering the Gaza Strip as part of arrangements concerning its future. The families oppose the move and are demanding that even within the framework of a future arrangement, responsibility for Israel’s security vis-à-vis the Strip not be transferred to an international entity.

For the families, the issue is directly connected to the goals for which their loved ones went to war. They are asking cabinet members to make decisions based on what they define as the spirit of combat and sacrifice of the fallen, and argue that reliance on a foreign force could undermine achievements gained at the cost of their lives.

IDF Eliminates Hamas Terrorist Planning Dangerous Attacks

The IDF struck a Hamas commander today (Tuesday) in the Jabaliya area of northern Gaza. According to an IDF spokesperson, “The terrorist recently advanced terror operations against IDF forces and Israeli citizens and worked to rebuild the organization’s capabilities, systematically violating the ceasefire. The terrorist was struck to remove the threat.”

The strike continues a series of operations against Hamas operatives in Gaza and Judea and Samaria in recent days. Over the weekend, Israeli forces struck a commander in Hamas’s military wing in Deir al-Balah, and in another strike killed two terrorists in northern Gaza, including a Nukhba force company commander.

The IDF emphasized that the strikes were carried out to remove the threat posed by terrorists who were advancing terror operations and violating the agreements. Meanwhile, Southern Command forces remain deployed in the area in accordance with the agreement and will continue to act to remove any immediate threat.

The strikes come against the backdrop of unusual activity earlier in Gaza City, following the escape and eventual capture by Israeli forces of Hamas’s chief of general security, Moein al-Araabid.

Terrorists Poison Herd, Attack Rescuers in Binyamin Region

The poisoning terror campaign is striking Judea and Samaria again. For the second time in the past week, a terrorist cell from the village of al-Mu’ayyir in the Binyamin region infiltrated the grazing lands of a ranch near Route Alon on Sunday. The Islamists spread lethal poison hidden inside water troughs placed throughout the grazing area. The shepherds, who arrived to water their herd as they do every day, were horrified to discover that some of the goats that drank from the water immediately began showing severe poisoning symptoms—foaming at the mouth and convulsing.

Three goats have died so far from the severe poisoning, and the ranch is trying to save additional animals in critical condition. Residents from nearby ranches rushed to the scene to provide emergency veterinary care and administer antidote medications to the animals. But when the rescuers arrived, they were attacked with stones by dozens of Islamic rioters from the village who had been lying in wait nearby. The rioters charged at the shepherds and residents, trying to disrupt the herd rescue operations.

Israeli forces rushed to the scene, pushed the rioters back toward the village, and launched extensive searches in the area to locate the poisoning cell. The village reported three rioters wounded by security forces’ fire while participating in the attack on the shepherds. This is the second poisoning attack on the grazing lands of ranches near Route Alon in the past week, and the tenth since the beginning of the year. Ranchers are pointing with concern to the boldness of the cell, which has not yet been caught, and warn that the established pattern could cost human lives.

Muslim Mayor: Israeli Soccer Team ‘Not Welcome’ in Belgium

Belgian soccer club Union Saint-Gilloise will be forced to find an alternative venue for its Europa League home match against Hapoel Be’er Sheva after Leuven Mayor Mohamed Ridouani announced that he would not allow the Israeli team to play in the city. The match is scheduled for Oct. 22 as part of the competition’s league phase.

According to Belgian media reports, Ridouani cited public safety concerns for the decision and made clear that, as far as he is concerned, the match would not be permitted in Leuven even without spectators. “Union is welcome here, but when it comes to an Israeli team, no. I am consistent on this,” the mayor said.

The decision comes because Union cannot host its European matches at its home stadium in Brussels, which does not meet UEFA standards. As a result, the club had arranged to play its European home matches at the stadium in Leuven. At least its match against Hapoel Be’er Sheva, however, will now apparently have to be moved elsewhere.

Ridouani, who has previously expressed staunchly anti-Israel positions, has repeatedly spoken out against Israel over the war in Gaza. In April 2025, the Leuven municipality called for an end to the war in Gaza and announced that it would fly the PLO flag over City Hall, alongside providing emergency aid to Gaza.

Union Saint-Gilloise must now secure an alternative venue for its match against Hapoel Be’er Sheva, with the European schedule leaving the club less than two months to find a stadium that meets UEFA requirements.

New details were revealed today (Tuesday) about the unusual activity in Gaza: A senior Hamas figure captured during the operation is the head of the terrorist organization’s general security. Footage from the incident shows the van in which the senior terrorist was being transported fleeing the area, while intense activity was underway in the area and the Air Force was providing cover from the sky.

As we first reported, a Gazan militia that usually collaborates with Israel operated in western Gaza City against a target affiliated with Hamas. During the operation, the force was exposed and an exchange of fire developed at the scene. The activity ended successfully, and according to reports in the Gaza Strip, the Air Force attacked the area and helped the militia members escape the scene.

The incident took place in an area known as “Al-Kitab” in western Gaza City. Initially, different versions were circulated on Gazan channels regarding the identity of the force: some claimed that it was a special Israeli unit, while other sources reported that it was members of a militia that opposes Hamas and works in collaboration with Israel.

According to some reports in the Gaza Strip, the militiamen arrived at the scene in a vehicle used to transport vegetables.
