Gaza ‘Peace Council’ Unveils Roadmap to Disarm Hamas

Another step forward in talks over Gaza’s next phase. Following C14’s exclusive report on growing momentum between Israel, Hamas, and mediators, the “Peace Council” today released a statement detailing—for the first time—the principles of a roadmap to implement an emerging agreement. According to the statement, the process would include dismantling all of Hamas’s military capabilities—heavy and light weapons alike—without exception. In addition, all tunnels, weapons depots, and munitions production facilities would be destroyed as part of a comprehensive effort to fully demilitarize the Gaza Strip.

The statement further stipulates that at the end of the process, Hamas would have no governing role in Gaza, “neither openly nor behind the scenes.” Under the framework, a committee to administer Gaza would assume full civilian authority, in line with the principle of “one authority, one law, one gun.” The statement emphasized that “each step by one side enables the next step by the other,” designed to ensure gradual implementation of the understandings.

As C14 reported earlier, sources in Israel and Gaza described significant progress in the talks. According to a Gaza source involved in the details, understandings have been reached on the handover and storage of weapons under an agreed mechanism, alongside agreements on managing civilian systems in the Strip. Gaza sources even estimated that a formal announcement could come as soon as today, contingent on a full Israeli withdrawal and an end to targeted killings.

Israel confirms that talks are underway and assesses the direction is positive, but stresses that no agreement has been signed. Sources involved in the details clarify that if a deal is reached, it would include strict monitoring mechanisms, disclosure of tunnel locations, and full disarmament of Hamas, with meticulous implementation and no possibility of circumventing the agreement’s terms.

IDF and Shin Bet Destroy Four Hamas Weapons Caches in Gaza

The IDF and Shin Bet destroyed four Hamas weapons caches overnight Wednesday across multiple areas of the Gaza Strip, according to a joint statement from the Shin Bet and IDF spokespeople.

The caches contained Kalashnikov rifles, explosives, anti-tank launchers, ammunition, and additional military equipment. According to the statement, the weapons were intended for Hamas to carry out terror attacks against IDF forces operating in the Yellow Line corridor and against Israeli civilians.

The statement added that the caches were destroyed to eliminate the threat. The Shin Bet and IDF claim Hamas continues to systematically violate the ceasefire agreement and is attempting to rebuild its military capabilities. IDF forces under Southern Command are deployed in the area in accordance with the agreement and will continue operating to remove threats.

Israel Approves 763 New Homes in Response to Terror Wave

As a wave of terror attacks continues across Judea and Samaria, Israel’s response came swiftly. Channel 14 has learned that authorities approved 763 new housing units throughout the Judea and Samaria on Wednesday, a move signaling determination to expand Jewish presence in the region.

    Photo: Anon

The bulk of the approval—673 housing units—goes to the settlement of Eli in the Binyamin Regional Council. The dramatic expansion is expected to double the size of the central settlement. Meanwhile, 90 additional units were approved in the Har Hadar Local Council near Jerusalem. Authorities also approved close to 500 square meters of land for construction in the city of Givat Ze’ev.

The current period of ‘Palestinian’ terror makes clear that the only way to crush the terrorists’ hopes is through continued construction, planting roots, and settlement expansion. Deepening the hold on the land of our forefathers is the most fitting national and Zionist response to those who seek our destruction.

A settlement official said, “We’ve gotten used to the enemy trying to uproot life—and we respond with more life. Expanding Eli and strengthening Har Hadar send a clear signal that the Zionist spirit will not diminish. We’ll keep building, developing, and securing our people’s future in their land.”

Hamas May Begin Handing Over Weapons Within Two Weeks

Sources I’ve spoken with say initial understandings are taking shape regarding the future of the Gaza Strip in recent days. The understandings have not been signed, have not been finalized, and it’s unclear whether they will actually ripen into implementation.

According to sources I’ve spoken with in recent days and weeks, one option now on the table is that Hamas would begin handing over heavy and light weapons and tunnel locations within roughly two weeks. That said, this is an extremely sensitive stage of the contacts, and significant question marks remain around the very feasibility of the move, how it would be executed, and the ability to ensure Hamas actually honors its commitments.

The contacts are being conducted, according to sources, around a broader framework that includes gradual demilitarization of the Gaza Strip, including the issues of light weapons, heavy weapons, and tunnel infrastructure. At the same time, the issue of ending Hamas’s governing involvement in the Strip is also being examined, and gaps between the sides could still affect the framework’s progress.

According to the understandings, if the framework does advance, it’s expected to be based on a phased mechanism of reciprocal steps, so that each step by Israel would be conditional on a step by Hamas. Sources emphasize that the arrangement is not supposed to be based on trust in the terror organization, but rather on monitoring, enforcement, and control mechanisms that are still being formulated.

Under the roadmap being examined, Hamas is supposed to cease military activity, and subsequently technical mechanisms would be closed that would enable the start of a full and complete demilitarization process. However, as noted, there is no signed agreement at this stage, and no certainty that the timelines being discussed will actually materialize.

Sources I’ve spoken with in recent days and hours assess that the very possibility that Hamas would begin handing over weapons within a short timeframe is a very significant positive development.

Bottom line: understandings are emerging that could lead to Hamas beginning to hand over weapons within roughly two weeks, but at this stage it’s only a possibility. Until a formal agreement is signed and until actual implementation begins on the ground, the move should be treated with great caution.

IDF Kills Hamas Sniper, Oct. 7 Terrorist in Gaza Strikes

This week, in precise air strikes carried out by the IDF in the south and north of the Gaza Strip, two key terrorists from the Hamas terror wing were eliminated: Ahmed al-Hasham Mahmoud Loh, the last head of the sniper squad in the Nussirat Battalion who promoted terrorist plots against IDF forces and Israeli civilians, and Mahmoud Ali Mahmoud Tarush, the commander of a platoon that raided Israeli territory during the October 7 massacre.

Our forces attacked in the southern Gaza Strip and eliminated Ahmed al-Hasham Mahmoud Loh, who served as head of the sniper squad in the Nussirat Battalion of the Hamas terrorist organization. The IDF said that the killing of Mahmoud Loh joins a series of killings of leaders of sniper squads in the same battalion.

In another attack that took place in the northern Gaza Strip that week, the terrorist Mahmoud Ali Mahmoud Tarush, a platoon commander in the military wing of the Hamas terrorist organization, who took part in the raid into Israeli territory during the October 7 massacre, was killed.

The IDF noted that throughout the war and recently, the terrorists attempted to carry out terrorist plots against IDF forces and citizens of the State of Israel, posed a direct threat to the forces, and were eliminated in precise airstrikes. IDF forces in the Southern Command are deployed in the area in accordance with the agreement and will continue to act to eliminate any threat.

The IDF’s targeted offensive operations in the Gaza Strip come as part of the ongoing effort by the Southern Command forces to neutralize terrorist infrastructures and eliminate senior Hamas military wing operatives who pose a threat to the security of the state and the forces on the ground. The Nusirat Battalion in the center of the Gaza Strip and other areas in the north and south of the Gaza Strip are under constant surveillance, with the IDF consistently working to thwart terrorist plots and harm terrorists who took an active part in the October 7 attack.

Report: Bennett Residence Costs 3x Netanyahu’s

An expense report from the Prime Minister’s Office reveals a significant gap between official residence costs during the tenures of Prime Ministers Naftali Bennett and Benjamin Netanyahu. According to the data in the report, total expenses during Bennett’s term reached ₪1,370,361.66, while expenses during Netanyahu’s term totaled ₪465,319.

The table, with totals highlighted in yellow, breaks down expenses by category including food purchases, electricity, water, maintenance, gardening, insurance, communications, and other items. The summary line shows total expenses excluding personnel costs. The data shows Bennett’s expenses were roughly ₪905,000 higher than Netanyahu’s—nearly three times as much. The figures are based on an official Prime Minister’s Office report.

Prime Minister Netanyahu’s Office stated in response: “The published data shows that the total residence expenses during Prime Minister Netanyahu’s tenure were significantly lower compared to the tenures of previous prime ministers. For example, during former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett’s year in office, ongoing expenses totaled 1,370,362 NIS (excluding manpower and security costs), whereas during the corresponding period under Prime Minister Netanyahu, expenses totaled only 465,319 NIS (excluding manpower and security costs)—less than a third of the expenditure during Bennett’s tenure.”

    Netanyahu-Zelensky Meeting Sparks Antisemitic Conspiracies

A short video of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky talking before the funeral of American Senator Lindsey Graham in Washington went viral in the past 24 hours, sparking a wave of antisemitic conspiracy theories on social media.

It was the first time in nearly three years that Netanyahu and Zelensky were seen talking face-to-face. But instead of generating purely political interest, the footage was seized on by antisemitic actors online who spread claims that the two are “planning World War III” or operating as part of a “global Jewish conspiracy.”

One antisemitic response to the video read: “Two Jewish-Zionist regimes, Israel and Ukraine, are funded by Americans who work one to three jobs,” with commenters mocking: “Americans need to work.”

The meeting came against a backdrop of rising tensions between Ukraine and Iran. Earlier this week, Ukrainian forces reportedly attacked Iranian vessels in the Caspian Sea, while Tehran accused Kyiv of acting on Israel’s behalf and threatened retaliation with ballistic missiles.

Normalizing Abbas Proves It: Hatred of Netanyahu Trumps All

Tell me, how long will Mansour Abbas keep playing games with us? Half the country is trying to figure out where this man stands and who exactly he’s loyal to. The other half already knows—he keeps playing the Westerner while being completely Arab.

MK Mansour Abbas, Ra’am Chairman, in the Plenum, archive | Photo: Noam Moskowitz, Knesset Spokesperson’s Office

And here’s the simplest, most basic question, my dear brothers, after everything we went through here with Hamas on October 7th. The rape and murder and massacre. (Let’s put the rest of Gaza’s people aside for now, okay?) Just Hamas. Are you okay with people who won’t condemn them? Does it sit well with you that they’re sitting in Israel’s Knesset and getting a salary from us? Here sits Ra’am chairman Mansour Abbas, mumbling his Western answer in our ear.

You get it? He has a clear answer, but he just won’t tell us. Mansour Abbas dodges calling Hamas a terror organization. Refuses to give us a simple, clear, direct answer. And he’s still here, an elected official. One time he claims you can’t put him to a loyalty test, another time he storms out of interviews just because they’re pressing him too hard. But the truth is obvious to everyone.

Clearly, tell us Mansour—why aren’t you answering? Maybe because your real answer would complicate things for you? Maybe because the moment you say the word “terror,” the bluff and the lie will just explode in everyone’s face? And then all the Arabs won’t come out to vote for you, God forbid, because whoever condemns Hamas doesn’t deserve their vote?

But between us? You know what? I have no complaints about you, Mansour. Whoever makes sidewalk noises shouldn’t be surprised when people walk on him. That after October 7th you don’t condemn Hamas—that’s natural. A tiger hasn’t turned into a zebra and the Muslim Brothers won’t become Israel-lovers. But the real shock is seeing Jews after October 7th who are willing to sit with scum like this.

Who are willing to build a government with you as long as there’s no Bibi, God forbid. You, my dear brothers, you’re the real weirdos. How has your hatred of Bibi driven you so crazy that it turned a common enemy into a partner? A person who won’t condemn Hamas and makes us all sick should be outlawed, not sitting inside a government.

  • Al-Jolani’s Trap for Israel: Syria’s Real Plan

Al-Jolani’s Trap for Israel: Syria’s Real Plan

In an exclusive interview with Al Jazeera, Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa delivered unprecedented statements that shed light on his strategic intentions. Beyond the public messaging, the interview reveals a complex web of political and military interests—from attempting to reach a quiet deal that would tie Israel’s hands, to seeking international legitimacy, to deep maneuvers designed to establish absolute control inside Syria while pushing aside opponents and minorities.

Al-Jolani’s White House meeting, archive | Photo: SANA

The interview’s central revelation concerns the first admission by an Arab leader in history that his government is conducting talks for a security agreement with Israel with the participation of a group of countries. Al-Sharaa stated they are avoiding confrontation and working to reach an agreement that would lead to comprehensive peace, without giving up Syria’s right to the occupied Golan. In practice, this means demanding an Israeli withdrawal from southern Syria and reaching a “quiet deal” that would prevent the IDF from operating freely or bombing in the area, while avoiding recognition of Israeli sovereignty in the Golan or advancing full normalization along the lines of the Abraham Accords at this stage.

Beneath the moderate rhetoric lies a clear action plan designed to establish harsh internal control. After crushing the Kurds and neutralizing the Alawites, al-Sharaa is setting his sights on taking over the Druze Mountain in Suwayda province, even at the cost of violent confrontation or harming the local population, with the goal of establishing an Islamic theocratic state. Meanwhile, he maintains an iron fist and ignores the rights of other minorities in the country.

At the same time, al-Sharaa is trying to whitewash his public image. As someone who previously led an al-Qaeda-type terrorist organization, he’s trying to signal to the West, the U.S., and Gulf states that he is pragmatic and unlike the Assad regime or Iran, aiming to remove sanctions, receive reconstruction funds, and be recognized as a legitimate president. As part of his attempts at differentiation and regional influence, al-Sharaa also addressed Lebanon in the interview and stated that Syria has no intention of military intervention in its neighbor. He supported the Lebanese state having an exclusive monopoly on weapons and on decisions of war and peace, while warning that chaos in Lebanon would directly harm Syria’s stability.

Al-Sharaa is leading these moves from a deep understanding of his situation and his country’s condition. He emphasized that Syria does not want to continue the legacy of political mistakes of the last 80 years, and due to its economic, military and social devastation against the remnants of ISIS and numerous militias, he needs quiet on his borders to rebuild the country without being dragged into destructive confrontations that would collapse his rule.

The Syrian arena is emerging today as one of the most dangerous and sensitive sectors for Israel, especially after the weakening of Hezbollah in Lebanon. Under a veneer of pragmatic pretense, Syria houses extremist Islamist militias that could threaten the country’s security. Experts emphasize that Israel has a moral and national obligation not to allow al-Sharaa to harm the Druze in the Suwayda Mountain or establish himself militarily near our border, and that any future agreement or contact must be managed with deep suspicion toward a leader whose entire goal is survival and consolidating his Islamic regime.

  • Former Classified Unit Soldier Charged With Spying for Iran

Former Classified Unit Soldier Charged With Spying for Iran

Following the partial gag order being lifted, it was cleared for publication today (Wednesday) that on July 16, 2026, the State Attorney’s Office filed a severe indictment with the Tel Aviv District Court against an Israeli citizen who served his regular and reserve military service in a classified unit. The defendant is accused of contact with a foreign agent and attempting to transmit information to benefit the enemy, after establishing contact with an entity presenting himself as an Iranian intelligence officer, and was even requested to assist in recruiting another soldier to facilitate contact with those hostile elements.

According to the details of the case uncovered in the investigation, the defendant—who previously served in a classified unit in both active duty and the reserves—established close contact with an individual who identified himself to him as an Iranian intelligence officer. As part of the alarming interactions with the foreign agent, the defendant not only cooperated but was also asked at a certain point to help recruit another soldier from within the IDF to establish contact with those foreign entities. The case is being handled and officially prosecuted by Attorney Irena Inberg of the Cyber Department at the State Attorney’s Office.

Following the exposure of the case, senior security officials in the Shin Bet, MALMAB (Director of Security for the Defense Establishment), the IDF, and the Israel Police issued a severe warning to all citizens and residents of the State of Israel, calling on them to refrain from any contact with foreign entities from enemy nations or unidentified individuals online and offline. Enforcement officials emphasized in their statement: “We call on citizens to report any suspicious or unusual contact to law enforcement authorities.”

    Illustration | Photo: Shutterstock

In recent years and months, the Israeli defense establishment—including the Shin Bet and counterintelligence units within MALMAB—has been confronting a significant surge in repeated attempts by Iran’s security and intelligence agencies to locate, recruit, and operate Israeli citizens, with an emphasis on those with access to sensitive information, veterans of secret units, or active duty and reserve soldiers.

The primary cover operation method of these entities usually includes establishing contact under a false or fictional identity on social networks, offering promises of financial payment or using various manipulations to induce Israelis to hand over classified information or carry out espionage tasks.
