President Donald Trump addressed the military escalation and war with Iran in an interview with Fox News ahead of the U.S. midterm elections. When asked if he had any regrets about actions taken against the Iranian regime, the president made clear he’s not looking back. “I don’t believe in the word regret,” Trump declared in the interview, emphasizing that his operational decisions were completely correct.
The president said that if he had to make the same call again, he would do the same and wouldn’t change a thing about his approach. Trump noted with satisfaction the results of the military operations, saying U.S. forces successfully destroyed Iran’s nuclear capabilities. According to him, the severe damage to infrastructure and Iran’s nuclear program put the Tehran regime in a significantly weakened position.
Later in the interview, Trump was asked how Iran continues to launch missiles despite the extensive damage it sustained. He responded that the Iranians had many systems and only a few remain. He added that the Iranians are now in serious trouble and struggling to produce new missiles. The president stressed that most of the missiles have been destroyed, though he noted a few will always remain in their hands, and pledged that the war will end after the midterm elections.
