US President Donald Trump stated today (Tuesday) that the United States will cease providing its annual aid to Israel—amounting to approximately four billion dollars—following what he described as an understanding reached on the matter with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Trump explained that Israel has become a successful nation and, therefore, no longer requires ongoing financial support.

“Bibi and I made a deal: we give Israel $4 billion a year. Then we agreed to stop, and they’re fine with that, because they’ve become a successful country,” the President said.
At the same time, Trump clarified that the cessation of these payments does not mean an end to aid for Israel should the need arise. “We won’t be paying Israel anymore—though, of course, we will assist them if they need it,” he emphasized.
