Tel Aviv isn’t waiting for the real results: Following exit polls published by Channels 11, 12, and 13 showing left-wing bloc parties leading by a small number of seats, many went out Tuesday evening to celebrate at Habima Square. The celebrations included, among other things, songs in Arabic, with many participants waving flags and entering the square’s fountain. According to C14 health reporter Yael Anker, dozens of people arrived at the scene.

Anker described what was happening: “They played ‘Song for Peace’ and were hugging each other. They danced inside the fountain. After ‘Song for Peace’ they started playing a medley in Arabic and cursed us along the way. Right now they’re continuing to sing.” According to her, “Someone tried to run me over with his bike and said to me, ‘How do you feel about us drinking to your 14 seats.’ He got stuck on me. The cameraman and I moved locations.”
As mentioned, participants sang “Song for Peace” together, which recently sparked controversy after being used at the Disengagement Festival in the south, held about 20 kilometers from Kibbutz Re’im, where the Nova Festival took place on October 7, 2023. In the square, one participant could be seen wrapped in a keffiyeh, alongside participants wearing shirts identified with the Democrats party and its chairman, Yair Golan.
