Three years after the October 7 massacre, another step toward bringing the terrorists to justice: IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir has chosen Zana Mudzgvrishvili, the former Chief Military Prosecutor, to lead the effort to prosecute Nukhba terrorists.
Mudzgvrishvili served in the IDF for 22 years and held a series of positions in the Military Advocate General’s Corps. During her final four years of service, she was the Chief Military Prosecutor. She also previously served as a military judge—experience that adds to her years of work in military law.
After completing her service in 2013, she was chosen to serve as the investigator of detainee complaints at the Shin Bet in the Justice Ministry. Now she’s been selected to lead the team that will handle prosecuting Nukhba terrorists, as part of preparations for the legal proceedings related to the massacre.
The appointment doesn’t announce the opening of a trial or the filing of an indictment in any specific case. It concerns who will head the effort as the system prepares for proceedings against the terrorists who participated in the attack on Israel.
At the center of the preparations is the demand to prosecute those responsible for the murders and kidnappings. Alongside selecting officials for key roles, handling evidence and investigation files is required to bring those involved before the court.
