Israeli forces killed two terrorists in northern Gaza this week—a senior Islamic Jihad rocket commander and a Hamas sniper—both actively planning attacks against Israeli troops.

Israeli forces killed two terrorists in airstrikes in northern Gaza this week, the IDF said Monday. One was a senior commander in Islamic Jihad’s rocket unit, the other a Hamas sniper. According to the IDF, both were actively planning terror attacks against Israeli forces and civilians and working to rebuild their organizations’ military capabilities.

In the first strike in the Daraj Tuffah area, forces killed Abdullah Munir Mahmoud Harz, deputy commander of a unit in Islamic Jihad’s rocket array. Beyond his role in the rocket unit, Harz was advancing sniper attacks against Israeli forces operating in the Strip and posed a direct threat to troops on the ground.

In a second strike in Gaza City, forces killed Mohammed Wael Mustafa Sha’sha’a, a sniper operative in Hamas’s Daraj Tuffah Battalion. His killing deals a blow to the organization’s sniper capabilities in the area and prevents future attacks he was planning to carry out.

The IDF emphasized that both terrorists operated throughout the war, and particularly in recent weeks, to advance terror attacks while systematically violating the ceasefire. Their elimination from the air was carried out to remove the immediate threat they posed. IDF forces in the Southern Command remain deployed across the area and will continue to act against any threat.
