A 19-year-old from northern Israel was charged with joining a terror organization after investigators say he pledged allegiance to ISIS after being exposed to jihadi propaganda—the fourth such case this week.

Police and the Shin Bet filed another indictment against a northern Israeli resident who pledged allegiance to ISIS after being exposed to jihadi propaganda—the fourth such case in recent days.

In a joint operation by the Northern District’s Central Unit and the Shin Bet, Yaakov Shibli, 19, a resident of the northern town of Shibli, was arrested on August 26.

This case joins three others from recent days in which indictments were filed against northern residents for identifying with the Islamic State terror organization.

The Northern District Prosecutor’s Office will file an indictment this morning through attorney Marina Rosenfeld at the Nof HaGalil-Nazareth Magistrate’s Court, charging him with membership in a terror organization.

The Shin Bet and Israel Police are acting decisively against any activity that endangers the security of the state and its citizens, and against any activity in which Israeli citizens seek to act on behalf of terror organizations against Israelis. They will continue to act decisively to thwart any activity against the State of Israel.
