Dozens of Iranian dissidents gathered outside the U.S. Embassy in London to mourn Senator Lindsey Graham, transforming the memorial into a defiant political demonstration against Tehran's regime.

Hours after news broke of Senator Lindsey Graham’s sudden death at 71, dozens of Iranian diaspora members gathered yesterday outside the U.S. Embassy in London along the Thames for a charged memorial rally. Participants set up a makeshift shrine with photos of the late senator and “Lion and Sun” flags, using the event to send a defiant message to the regime in Tehran: “Rest in peace and rise in strength!”

Graham, who died from an aortic rupture at his Washington home Saturday evening, was known as one of the Islamic Republic’s fiercest critics. He maintained close ties with the Iranian opposition in exile, including frequent meetings with Reza Pahlavi, son of the last Shah. At the rally, participants lit candles and waved opposition flags, blending personal mourning with calls for revolution.

Graham’s connection to Israel and the Iranian opposition was open and blunt. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu eulogized him in an NBC interview: “He was so clear, he had courage, he had beliefs that represented America’s traditional values. He told me: ‘Bibi, you have to do this. You have to eliminate the nuclear weapons program before they eliminate us.'” The London crowd embraced this narrative, and the rally, which began as a farewell ceremony, quickly turned into a political declaration of war against the ayatollahs’ rule.

Graham’s sudden death came after a short and dramatic illness, with emergency crews called to his home for chest pains before he suffered cardiac arrest. His death is expected to complicate Donald Trump’s Senate agenda by narrowing the Republican majority.

Earlier today, Graham’s office announced that preliminary autopsy findings showed his death was caused by an aortic rupture, against a background of cardiovascular disease. According to the office’s statement, the death certificate has not yet been completed and will only be signed after toxicology and microscopy results are received. Law enforcement sources said the process could take several weeks.
