The Samaria Regional Council has received funding and approval to build daycare centers in the communities of Ganim and Kadim—the first such investment since the communities were evacuated 21 years ago. The budget, secured from the Ministry for the Development of the Negev, Galilee and National Resilience headed by Minister Yitzhak Wasserlauf, will fund large, upgraded modular buildings for toddlers and young children.

This marks the first government budget transferred for daycare facilities in these communities, where resettlement resumed over the past year. Ganim now has 30 families and recently opened a yeshiva, while Kadim also has 30 families. The move completes the return to all four northern Samaria towns that were evacuated: Homesh, Sa-Nur, Ganim, and Kadim.
The need for daycare centers emerged as young families put down roots in the communities, which already opened kindergartens at the start of the school year. The new facilities are expected to serve existing families and enable additional families to join, as part of the council’s broader plan for the region, “A Million in Samaria.”

Minister of the Negev, Galilee and National Resilience Yitzhak Wasserlauf praised the move: “The return to northern Samaria corrects a historic injustice, but our mission doesn’t end with returning to the land. We are committed to building strong, growing, and thriving settlement here for generations to come. This budget is another step in establishing the settlement and creating conditions that will enable young families to arrive.”
Samaria Governor Yossi Dagan added: “This is a highly significant announcement, a historic and important step that will tremendously accelerate the growth and expansion of Ganim and Kadim. We returned to northern Samaria to build, and we are working together to develop the project and the next generation. With God’s help, we are increasing the pace, and we will open and expand the renewed northern Samaria.”
