In a joint operation by the IDF and the Shin Bet, Israel’s internal security agency, Israeli forces killed two senior operatives in Hamas’s military wing in the Gaza Strip. According to a statement released Monday, both were involved in advancing terror operations against IDF forces and Israeli civilians, and worked to rebuild the organization’s capabilities in violation of the ceasefire.

The first operative, Mohammed Halawa, who served as a commander in Hamas’s military intelligence apparatus, was killed in an airstrike Saturday. The targeted strike was carried out in Gaza City, located in the southern part of the Strip, and eliminated a senior terrorist who posed a significant threat.
In another strike last week on Thursday, Israeli forces killed Ahmed Zahir Fuad Abu-Odeh. Abu-Odeh was an engineering commander in the terror organization’s military wing, and his elimination represents another blow to Hamas’s military and engineering capabilities in the Strip.

Security officials emphasize that both operatives systematically violated the ceasefire and advanced attacks against Israel. The eliminations were carried out from the air to remove the immediate threat they posed. Officials added that “security forces are deployed throughout the area in accordance with the agreement and will continue to act to remove any threat.”
