Israel's Registrar of Nonprofits revoked proper management approval for Dar al-Huda al-Namoudjia, which runs schools in East Jerusalem, after the organization refused to cooperate with oversight and hand over required documents.

Following a Channel 14 investigation, the Registrar of Nonprofits at the Justice Ministry revoked proper management approval for 2026 from Dar al-Huda al-Namoudjia. The organization, which operates educational institutions in East Jerusalem, was at the center of the investigative series “Ashraf Marwan – A Pseudonym” that aired on the channel, as well as investigations by HaKol HaYehudi.

According to an announcement from the Corporations Authority published today (Thursday), the decision came after the organization refused to cooperate with the authority’s intelligence and investigations arm. The authority also said the organization did not comply with demands to transfer essential information and documents, thereby violating a fundamental condition for receiving proper management approval.

The investigations alleged that the organization, whose previous name was “Amsah Damaat al-Yatim,” is connected to figures identified with Hamas in Jerusalem and serves as a subsidiary of “Lajnat Zakat al-Quds.” The reports also revealed that some of the educational institutions it operates were established with financial assistance from entities declared illegal associations in Israel.

As part of the Channel 14 investigative series, it was revealed that Ramzi Barhoum, one of the figures examined, was a member of the organization’s founding committee. Following the reports, Education Committee Chairman MK Zvi Sukkot took action against the Nur al-Huda school in Shuafat, and the Education Ministry recently froze budget transfers to it.

The revocation of proper management approval now joins a series of steps taken against the organization’s activities. However, officials at the Registrar of Nonprofits emphasized that the official grounds for the decision is the organization’s failure to cooperate with the oversight process, not the alleged ties to the Hamas terror organization.
