The data was presented this morning at a professional briefing held by the commissioner with senior police officials. The figures, which compare to the same period last year, represent the best numbers in the past three years. The commissioner expressed his appreciation to commanders and officers for their determined work fighting serious crime.

During the briefing, the commissioner ordered continued and intensified operational activity against crime perpetrators. “I’ve ordered us to keep crushing crime organizations, to hit their infrastructure, their funding sources and their operational capabilities, and to bring crime perpetrators to justice,” the commissioner said.

Commissioner Levy added and emphasized: “We won’t let up and we won’t allow crime organizations to terrorize the public. We’ll keep acting with full force, everywhere and in every sector, for the personal security of Israeli citizens.” He noted that despite the decline, “every murder is one too many.”
