The Iranian hacking group Handala claimed Wednesday it infiltrated IDF bases and released photos and videos, though cybersecurity experts have previously questioned the group's claims.

The Iranian hacking group Handala claimed Wednesday that its operatives infiltrated IDF bases and released footage from inside them. In a statement, the group said “photos and videos we obtained from inside your military bases during recent wars are now available for the entire world to see on the Handala website. All your cameras, sensors, and security systems have become a laughingstock today.”

The statement continued: “Today, the Zionist army is forced to face a bitter truth: our organization’s people who infiltrated your ranks not only completed their mission, but are still at the heart of your army, walking right among you, in meeting rooms, at headquarters, and even alongside senior commanders!”

The group added: “Photos and videos we obtained from inside your military bases during recent wars are now available for the entire world to see on the Handala website. All your cameras, sensors, and security systems have become a laughingstock today. How can you claim you have an ‘invincible army’ and hold free elections when infiltration on this scale has become routine?”

The hacking organization concluded by addressing the prime minister: “Mr. Netanyahu, congratulations are in order. Under your leadership, ‘October 7th’ arrives not just once, but again and again, and the Zionist army will never be able to sleep peacefully again.”

This isn’t the first time the hacking group has made exaggerated claims about breaching classified databases. During the World Cup, the group announced it had taken control of FBI drones hovering over the games. The hackers’ claims have not been independently verified, and cybersecurity experts have cast doubt on the authenticity of evidence previously published by the group.
