Defense Minister Israel Katz warned Wednesday that Iran is trying to carry out attacks aimed at influencing Israel’s elections. Katz said Israel’s security establishment is tracking Iran’s activity and delivered a stark warning to Tehran: an attack on Israel will trigger a severe response.

“We’re seeing the Iranian regime trying to carry out attacks to influence the elections in Israel,” the defense minister said.
Katz then sent a direct message to Iran’s leadership: “Our message to the Iranians is clear: We see you, and if Iran attacks Israel—Iran will burn.”

The defense minister’s remarks point to concerns within Israel’s security establishment about Tehran’s attempts to interfere in the election through attacks.
