Israel's Civil Aviation Authority chief appointed Maj. Gen. (res.) Moti Baruch to head a comprehensive review of security protocols for foreign airlines flying to Israel.

Two days ago, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu instructed the Head of the National Security Council to appoint a team to review the security arrangements for foreign civil aviation flying to Israel, following the incident on the Flydubai flight. The directive to launch this review was issued after the attempted attack.

We can now reveal for the first time that the plan is to appoint Major General Moti Baruch to head the review team. The team is expected to examine the failures and conduct leading up to the attempted attack on the flight.

Baruch was among the founders of Division 96, established in the wake of the October 7 massacre. Additionally, he led an expert team tasked with reviewing and strengthening operational discipline during combat.

This appointment comes amid ongoing reviews and investigations into the attempted attack on the Flydubai flight, while Israel simultaneously examines the issue of security for foreign airlines flying into the country.
