Defense Minister Israel Katz announced Tuesday that Israeli forces eliminated Izz al-Din al-Bik, the commanding terrorist of Hamas’s northern Gaza brigade overnight. The successful strike was carried out as part of ongoing targeted eliminations aimed at Hamas’s leadership.

The operations are intended to impair the terror group’s ability to carry out attacks against Israeli forces, dismantle its operational infrastructure and ultimately ensure its complete disarmament. Israeli security officials stressed that the operations are also intended to exact a price from those responsible for the murders and atrocities committed against Israeli women and children on Oct. 7 simply because they were Jews. Katz made clear that Israel’s long arm would reach every terrorist and commander in the organization, stressing that operations against Hamas terrorists would continue across all arenas until Israel’s objectives are achieved.
Alongside the elimination in Gaza, Katz issued a stark warning to Hamas’s leadership overseas, declaring that the terror group’s senior figures abroad are also in Israel’s sights. “No one among the despicable murderers who took part in the Oct. 7 massacre should be allowed to die quietly in his bed,” Katz said. He described bringing those responsible to justice as a national obligation of the Israeli people and the state, and vowed that even those who previously escaped Israel’s reach would ultimately be held accountable and eliminated.
