Israel’s National Public Diplomacy Directorate in the Prime Minister’s Office launched a major advocacy campaign today (Thursday) in the streets of Manhattan near the UN building. Some 500 billboards, dozens of trucks, and an extensive digital push will appear before tens of world leaders who arrived from around the globe, presenting the threat posed by Iran’s terror regime and Israel’s partnership with the U.S. in the fight against the axis of evil.

The campaign was rolled out during the annual UN General Assembly gathering in New York, ahead of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech today. It’s focused in the heart of Manhattan, the area where UN headquarters is located. The campaign messages are integrated across several different platforms: billboards on major avenues and streets including massive signage in Times Square, as well as trucks with digital screens specially rented to drive through Manhattan during the General Assembly days.
Among the campaign materials are messages presenting the strategic cooperation between Israel and the U.S. against threats to the free world. There’s also an emphasis on the Iranian nuclear threat directed at the UN, and a message aimed directly at members of the Iranian delegation to the UN Assembly, focused in the area of the hotel where delegation members are staying.
Amid expected antisemitic demonstrations against Israel, part of the campaign is also directed at protesters under the heading “Choose a Side.” The message includes two sides: one is the U.S. and Israel, representing freedom and life, while on the other side are Iran, Hamas and Hezbollah, representing terror, death and tyranny.
Netanyahu took off last night on the “Wing of Zion” plane to the U.S. for a 24-hour lightning visit, during which he’ll appear at the UN General Assembly and meet with several world leaders. During his speech, the prime minister will focus on Iran, and he’s expected to use visual aids to present Iranian capabilities that Israel is tracking but haven’t yet been revealed.
