The IDF struck last Thursday in the Khan Younis area of southern Gaza and eliminated Jihad Samih Mahmoud Ismail, a Hamas Nukhba terrorist.
Ismail infiltrated into Israel from southern Gaza on October 7 and took part in the clash with tank crew members from Tank No. 3 and the kidnapping of Captain Omer Neutra, Staff Sergeant Oz Daniel, and Sergeant Nimrod Cohen. In that clash, tank driver Sergeant Shaked Dahan was killed.
During the war, the terrorist was involved in ambushes against IDF forces aimed at attacking Israeli troops.
Recently, Ismail advanced terror operations against IDF forces and Israeli civilians while systematically violating the ceasefire. He was eliminated to remove the threat he posed.
IDF forces under Southern Command are deployed in the area in accordance with the agreement and will continue to operate to remove any immediate threat.
