Two security sources told Reuters that rocket attacks targeted three camps belonging to Kurdish organizations in Iraqi Kurdistan early Monday morning. The sources added that no casualties were reported.
The attack came as part of a series of strikes in recent months against those organizations in Iraqi Kurdistan. The local Komala party previously stated that its headquarters and camps have sustained more than 108 missile and drone attacks since the outbreak of Operation “Roaring Lion,” according to statements quoted in media from party sources.
Recently, the U.S. decided to pull all air defense systems out of Iraq, including from Kurdistan—leaving locals defenseless. This came as part of an agreement signed by the U.S. and Iraq, under which the U.S. will evacuate all its military presence from the Arab state’s territory by September 30. Iran didn’t miss the opportunity and attacked the Kurds with drones the very next day.
