Hazam al-Asad, a member of the Houthi terror organization’s political bureau, claimed that trade and freedom of navigation in the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab strait are guaranteed. He made the remarks in an interview with the Qatari newspaper Al-Araby Al-Jadeed.
The senior terrorist tried to send a reassuring message to the international community, claiming there’s no reason for concern about continued freedom of navigation in Bab al-Mandab. According to him, the terror group isn’t planning to take steps that would harm vessel traffic in the area and has no plans to impose transit fees on ships crossing the strait.
