Israel’s far-left Democrats party chairman Yair Golan is continuing his attempts to secure Arab voters. In a Facebook post published in Arabic over the weekend, he quoted arch-terrorist Yasser Arafat and declared: “Whoever doesn’t like it can go drink the sea water.”

Golan pulled out the quote in response to Channel 14 panelist Betzalel Yaakov, who slammed him: “I see Yair Golan, all the time, on every platform he has, speaking to the Arab public. He addresses them in Arabic. This man is busy flattering the Bedouin sector.” The Democrats chairman didn’t deny the accusations. “I’m not fazed by these videos,” he said. “The future of the State of Israel is in Jewish-Arab partnership—there’s no other option. And whoever doesn’t like it, I can say one thing”—then switched to Arabic: “Let him go drink the sea water.”
Several months ago, Golan made clear that if a government composed of opposition factions is formed, it would rely on votes from Arab Knesset members to “bring down the worst government of failure.”
