The Northern District Prosecutor’s Office charged three residents of Kfar Misr, ages 26, 41, and 30, with operating a smuggling ring that moved roughly 110 pounds (50 kilograms) of hash across the border into Jordan. The indictment, filed after a joint investigation by the Northern District Central Unit and the Shin Bet, Israel’s internal security agency, accuses them of harming state sovereignty, exporting dangerous drugs, and drug possession. According to the investigation, the three contacted drug suppliers and obtained about 110 pounds of hashish worth millions of shekels, intended for transfer to Jordan. On July 15, 2026, they drove a van to a pickup point, collected 10 packages containing the drugs, and continued to the eastern border fence.
The cell members allegedly threw the packages over the fence, where contacts on the Jordanian side collected them. In exchange for exporting the drugs, each defendant was supposed to receive about 100,000 shekels (~$32,000). The indictment was filed in Nazareth–Nof HaGalil District Court by attorney Ohad Cohen from the Northern District Prosecutor’s Office. Police said the Border Police unit’s activity in the northern region is part of efforts to thwart weapons and drug smuggling.
