A new war front? The head of Iran’s parliamentary National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, Ebrahim Azizi, threatened overnight Sunday that Kyiv will pay a price for the attack it carried out against a vessel linked to Iran.
1+In a post on X, Azizi made clear: “Any attack on Iran always comes with a cost, and that remains true today; the U.S. and Israel are well aware of this,” adding that “Ukraine, too, may soon come to understand that Iran does not let actions go unanswered. The list of those who have miscalculated continues to increase!”
The threat comes a day after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that Ukrainian forces struck a vessel in the Caspian Sea that was used to transport military cargo linked to Iran. During the operation, a Russian ship operating in the area was also hit.
1+Iran claimed one person was killed and another wounded in the strike, called the incident an “act of aggression,” and accused Ukraine of trying to expand the war against Russia, while making clear they will act to defend Iran’s security and national interests.
