The White House’s Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Antisemitism, Ambassador Rabbi Yehuda Kaploun, hosted the first-ever symposium on Islamist ideology and antisemitism in his office, according to the Department of State.
Ambassador Rabbi Kaploun delivered keynote remarks, along with Deputy Assistant to the President and Senior Director for Counterterrorism Dr. Sebastian Gorka. Briefings were made by research institutions, think tanks, and non-governmental organizations.
The symposium highlighted transnational threats posed by hostile foreign governments and terrorist organizations using proxy networks, illicit financing, and social media to undermine U.S. national security.
The event follows a sharp spike in Islamic terrorism worldwide in recent years. Notable incidents within the past year include a double homicide on Yom Kippur last November in Manchester, the Bondi Beach massacre in Australia last December, and two separate Islamic terror attacks on a Michigan synagogue and on Old Dominion University that occured the same day, March 13, 2026. Just yesterday, we reported on a foiled ISIS-linked attack on a New Jersey synagogue.
High-level officials from across the interagency took place in the symposium, including many from the Department of Homeland Security, Department of Justice, Department of State, Department of Treasury, Department of War, FBI, Intelligence Community, and the White House.
