Following an eight-day operation against Hamas infrastructure in Hebron, Israeli forces destroyed the homes of the terrorists who killed Staff Sgt. Ron Yonatan Roitman and Sgt. Yuval Shai Swilam at Yehuda Junction, while leveling urban monuments glorifying terror.

Israeli security forces operated deep within the heart of Hebron on Friday to demolish the residential structures of the two terrorists eliminated during last week’s deadly confrontation at Yehuda Junction. The engineering operations were executed precisely one week following the battle in which Staff Sergeant Ron Yonatan Roitman, 20, and Sergeant Yuval Shai Swilam, 19, fell in combat while engaging the armed cell. Three additional service members sustained light wounds during the exchange of fire, which ended when tactical units neutralized both assailants.

The structural demolitions marked the end of eight consecutive days of high-tempo counterterrorism maneuvers across the city. Troops from the Yehuda Regional Brigade, the Paratroopers Brigade’s 101st Battalion, and the Search and Rescue Brigade’s Ari Battalion conducted targeted sweeps against localized terror cells, weapons depots, and operational hideouts. Addressing his troops during the mission, Yehuda Brigade Commander Colonel Dotan Malul underscored the IDF’s uncompromising posture: “On the eve of Shabbat, after eight continuous days of operations, we are destroying the homes of the cursed terrorists who sought to harm residents of this sector and met heroic IDF soldiers instead. We stand here in the heart of Hebron ready and prepared for any operational assignment. The Yehuda Brigade will remain on guard at all times and will not allow terror or Hamas to raise its head.”

The commander of the Ari Search and Rescue Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel L., paid tribute to the fallen fighters whose rapid engagement prevented a wider civilian disaster: “One week ago, in an armed clash against terrorists at Yehuda Junction, fighters of the Ari Battalion stood as a shield for the citizens of Israel. During that battle, two heroes fell—Staff Sergeant Ron Yonatan Roitman and Sergeant Yuval Shai Swilam. We will continue to operate guided by their light and dedicated to their memory.”

“We Will Continue to Act in Their Light and Memory”

Alongside residential demolitions, forces systematically dismantled municipal propaganda and shrines erected to honor anti-Israel violence. Lieutenant Colonel R., commander of the 101st Battalion, revealed that paratroopers tore down public monuments celebrating Palestinian attackers: “Battalion 101 operated over the past eight days in an intensive campaign in Hebron. We destroyed the residences of the attackers, and we razed monuments that glorified murderers. I am proud of the troops and their relentless drive to preserve the security of the state until victory.”

The combined operations emphasize the military’s ongoing strategic shift in Judea, enforcing swift deterrence, eradicating physical and symbolic terror infrastructure, and maintaining continuous operational friction against hostile networks throughout urban centers.
