President Donald Trump shared a quote crediting his support for Benjamin Netanyahu with reversing what looked like a crushing defeat into a potential tie or even victory in Israel's elections.

U.S. President Donald Trump responded on Truth Social on Wednesday morning to election developments in Israel,

attributing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s performance in the 26th Knesset race to his own public endorsement,

which he argued reversed momentum and transformed an impending defeat into a competitive contest. Writing in the third person, the American president claimed direct credit for altering the trajectory of the Israeli race.

“When President Trump endorsed Bibi Netanyahu, the whole tide turned,” Trump wrote in the post. “And now, rather than a decisive defeat of a great Prime Minister, it looks like a big come-on-behind stalemate, or even a win for Netanyahu,” Trump emphasized that the shift occurred only after he publicly backed the prime minister ahead of Tuesday’s vote.

“It all took place after the endorsement announcement by President Trump, who only wants what is good for the Middle East, Israel, and the United States of America,” he added.
The American president’s comments come as election workers continue tallying ballots following record national turnout that closed at 77.7% on Tuesday night. While initial exit poll projections indicated a polarized Knesset and narrow governing paths for both the national camp and the opposition, the final allocation of parliamentary mandates remains subject to verifying standard ballots and processing external double envelopes over the coming days.
