Israir launched a new direct flight route Sunday between Ben Gurion Airport and Madrid, Spain’s capital, adding another option for Israelis planning European vacations. The route will operate three times weekly—on Sundays, Mondays, and Thursdays—offering direct flights to a destination that draws visitors for its cultural and nightlife scene, soccer matches, shopping options, and business activity.

The inaugural flight on the new route took off Sunday at 2:15 p.m. Flights from Ben Gurion to Madrid are scheduled to depart in the early afternoon, while return flights from Madrid to Israel are expected to take off at 8:00 p.m. The three-flights-per-week frequency allows travelers to choose between several departure dates, though it’s worth checking in advance how the flight schedule fits with your planned vacation length.
Madrid offers a range of options for travelers: alongside historical sites and museums, you’ll find restaurants, nightlife, shopping districts, and soccer stadiums that draw fans from around the world. For those looking for a city break, it can work well for a stay of just a few days, without needing to rent a car or leave the city to fill your itinerary.
What About the Price?
To mark the route launch, Israir is offering round-trip tickets starting at $328 per person for October departures. In November, the starting price stands at $420 per person round-trip. These are introductory prices, and the actual price may vary depending on the flight date and seat availability.

For travelers, the route launch adds another option to reach Madrid directly from Israel. That said, before booking, it’s worth comparing the final price for your desired dates and checking what services are included in the ticket to understand what the flight will actually cost.
