Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is holding a security assessment this morning (Friday) following a shooting attack on Route 60 in the West Bank. In the wake of the attack, the prime minister canceled his planned visit to Jerusalem’s Mahane Yehuda market, according to our political correspondent Moti Kastel.

The shooting, which occurred between the Yehuda Junction and Hebron, wounded five people with varying degrees of injury. According to medical officials, two of the wounded are in critical condition, one is in moderate condition, and two are lightly wounded. Magen David Adom teams and IDF medical forces provided initial treatment and evacuated them to hospitals.

The two terrorists who carried out the attack were killed at the scene after exchanging fire with Israeli forces. Security forces are continuing extensive searches in the area to rule out the presence of accomplices, while several Palestinian villages have been placed under closure and traffic routes in the area have been blocked.
