U.S. President Donald Trump issued a fierce condemnation of the Iranian regime on Thursday, accusing Tehran of fabricating false reports of naval strikes and sea mines in the Strait of Hormuz to artificially inflate global crude prices and disrupt the upcoming U.S. midterm elections. Dismissing Iranian disruption claims by highlighting that oil transit through the corridor is at record highs under U.S.-led naval protection, Trump slammed the "evil regime" for killing 75,000 internal protesters in under seven months and issued an uncompromising warning that Tehran will never obtain nuclear weapons.

United States President Donald Trump launched a blistering attack against the Iranian regime on Thursday evening,

accusing Tehran of executing a deliberate strategy to inflate global crude oil prices in an attempt to sway the upcoming U.S. midterm elections. According to President Trump, Iranian authorities have resorted to orchestrating fraudulent claims regarding maritime strikes and phantom naval mines in the Strait of Hormuz to manufacture panic across international commodities trading desks.

“Iran is doing everything it can to raise the price of oil before the U.S. midterm elections,” Trump wrote. “They’re even making up fake attacks, mines, and everything else, because more oil is passing through the Strait of Hormuz now than even before the conflict began.”

Pressure on Hormuz—and U.S. Elections

The President’s statements follow disclosures last week in which two senior Iranian officials acknowledged that Tehran has intensified operations against international commercial shipping in the Persian Gulf chokepoint specifically to keep energy prices elevated and apply direct economic pressure to the American political process.

Trump’s characterization of uninterrupted maritime transit aligns with assessments delivered by U.S. Central Command. Vice Admiral Brad Cooper recently confirmed that the United States and its regional defense partners maintain de facto operational control over the Strait of Hormuz. Admiral Cooper reported that approximately 400 commercial cargo vessels successfully transited the vital waterway within a single seven-day window,

with American and allied naval forces safeguarding the transport of more than 100 million barrels of crude oil during that timeframe alone.

The struggle over benchmark energy pricing has become a primary economic battleground in the confrontation between Washington and Tehran. In tandem with military presence,

the Trump administration has been actively driving policies to expand global oil supply and push prices downward—a maneuver calculated to directly starve the Iranian regime of its principal foreign currency lifeline.

“Evil Regime”: Trump Returns to 75,000 Dead

Broadening his indictment beyond energy warfare,

President Trump forcefully condemned the Iranian leadership for its lethal suppression of domestic civil unrest.

“They continue to kill protesters, and anyone else who happens to stand in their way. It is truly an evil regime,” Trump stated, repeating his assessment that “75,000 protesters lie dead in less than seven months.”

President Trump concluded his remarks by reaffirming Washington’s strategic red line regarding Tehran’s atomic aspirations, delivering an unbending directive as voices within Iran increasingly call for a nuclear breakout modeled on North Korea: “Iran can never have a nuclear weapon, and they will never have a nuclear weapon.”
