U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio declared on Sunday that the Islamic Republic of Iran remains the paramount obstacle to Middle East peace, debunking longstanding foreign policy orthodoxies that placed the Israeli-'Palestinian' conflict at the center of regional instability. Speaking to Breitbart News, Rubio emphasized that solving the 'Palestinian' issue would be markedly simpler absent Tehran's proxy interference, noting that recent American military strikes and strict economic blockades have systematically pulverized critical elements of Iran's navy, air force, and missile infrastructure while starving terrorist proxies of vital operational funds.

United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that the Islamic regime in Iran represents the central barrier to achieving peace in the Middle East, asserting that absent the clerical rule of the ayatollahs in Tehran, even the ‘Palestinian’ issue would be substantially easier to resolve, according to an interview published Sunday by American news outlet Breitbart News.

Rubio explained that for decades, conventional wisdom in Washington operated on the assumption that the Israeli-‘Palestinian’ conflict sat at the heart of all regional disputes. However, he argued that the Trump administration decisively proved the opposite. “I think what President Trump exposed is that the number one driver of instability, wars, and conflicts, and the number one obstacle to peace in the Middle East, is the Islamic regime in Tehran,” Rubio said.

The Secretary of State pointed directly to the continuous operational activities of Hezbollah in Lebanon, armed Shiite militias in Iraq, and the Houthis in Yemen as unmistakable evidence of malignant Iranian influence across the region. Addressing Hezbollah specifically, Rubio declared: “Hezbollah is one hundred percent a subsidiary of Iran,” directly accusing Tehran of underwriting, training, and operationalizing armed terror factions against Israel and sovereign nations across the Middle East.

According to Rubio, without the radical clerical leadership holding power in Iran, the overwhelming majority of regional wars would cease to exist. “There might still be a ‘Palestinian’ issue. I would argue that it would be far easier to deal with that issue if this regime in Iran did not exist,” he emphasized.

Addressing the military campaign waged against Iran, Rubio stated that targeted American strikes have neutralized and destroyed pivotal segments of the Iranian Navy, Air Force, and ballistic missile and attack-drone production lines. These direct strikes, he argued, critically compromised Tehran’s strategic scheme to advance toward nuclear weapons capability under the protective umbrella of a dense missile network.

Rubio added that comprehensive American sanctions alongside the active maritime blockade enforced against Iran have simultaneously choked its ability to underwrite regional terrorist organizations. Every single dollar denied to Tehran, the Secretary of State concluded, is capital that cannot be funneled to Hezbollah, Hamas, Iraqi proxy militias, or the regime’s clandestine nuclear weaponization endeavors.
