Pay attention to this disturbing story: Footage released on Arab social media shows a training exercise conducted by the terror army under Mahmoud Abbas’ command, in which they practice storming a building—just like a special forces unit—and then fire inside a room at two cardboard targets depicting a mother and her young daughter. Yes, you’re reading that correctly.
2+Sharp-eyed viewers will notice the clothing on the cardboard targets is orange, apparently influenced by one of the most memorable stories from the October 7th massacre that shook the entire country—the abduction of Shiri Bibas and her children: 9-month-old Kfir and Ariel, who had just turned 4.
There’s been talk for a long time about fears of a scenario where these forces turn their guns on us, and about this monster that Mahmoud Abbas has built right under our noses. We’re talking about 28,000-35,000 well-trained terrorists, trained by Jordan and the European Union, which took an active role in their preparation. This terror army is armed with the best weapons available. They have equipment that even the Hamas Nukhba terrorists who massacred us on October 7th would have been happy to have—terrorists who were also armed from head to toe, but far less trained than these terrorists operating under Mahmoud Abbas’ protection.
2+And while we’re making comparisons, Abu Mazen’s terror army is also equipped with armored vehicles, some of which were supplied as part of American and European aid and with Israel’s approval—unlike those white Toyotas we remember so well. Take a second and think: just as before October 7th we couldn’t imagine a scenario like what actually unfolded in our homes, so too here—it’s difficult and even terrifying to imagine a scenario of mass slaughter in Judea and Samaria communities and along the seam line, using the best capabilities I’ve described here, and that’s just scratching the surface.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed this scenario this week and said: “We are prepared for every scenario including them turning their guns on us—in such a case I suggest our enemies try us.” Defense Minister Israel Katz also addressed such a scenario and said: “In such a case, war will be declared against the PA and the IDF will launch a comprehensive offensive according to an organized plan.”
But this footage that was released is nothing less than a flashing red light for what’s going to happen in the coming days or weeks or months, or even years, and it will happen as a surprise, exactly as happened to us on October 7th. The real question is: will we continue to wait and hope it won’t happen tomorrow? Or will we, unlike in the past, be smart enough to act much earlier?
2+What really needs to happen now, before the disaster, is for entire IDF brigades to maneuver together with APCs and tanks, accompanied by attack helicopters, into the terror camps in Judea and Samaria and eliminate this army that could one day simply slaughter our children.
But now! Not when an incident happens, not when there are “movements,” not when warning signs light up—right now. Just as before October 7th they drove around our fences with white vans and inside communities and we said “it’ll be fine, it’s just an exercise,” they lulled us to sleep. But now we can get ahead of them after we rose from that terrible devastation and understood that we can no longer afford to rely on anyone, and must always—always—be several steps ahead of everyone, before we take the next 10/7 right in the face.
