The IDF killed a Hamas commander who was involved in holding Israeli hostages captive.
Israel struck in the Gaza City area earlier this week and killed Muhammad Mahsan Nimr Yazji, a commander in Hamas’s Shati Battalion. Throughout the war, the terrorist was involved in holding hostages in the Gaza City Brigade area, including Emily Damari, Romi Gonen, and Matan Angrest.

The IDF killed another terrorist in a separate strike two days ago in the Sabra area—Muhammad Fawzi Muhammad Awad Jamal, a terrorist in the Daraj Tuffah Battalion of Hamas’s military wing.
Recently, the terrorists advanced terror operations against IDF forces and Israeli civilians and worked to rebuild Hamas’s capabilities, systematically violating the ceasefire. The terrorists were killed in airstrikes to remove the threat they posed.
IDF forces under Southern Command are deployed in the area in accordance with the agreement and will continue operating to remove any immediate threat.
