A Channel 14 investigation revealed on Wednesday that major Arab political factions—including Ra'am and the Joint List—completely bypassed commemorations for the victims of the October 7 massacre on its three-year anniversary. While the entire nation paused in grief, official party platforms, party candidates, and new Ra'am recruit Yoav Segalovich made zero mention of the murdered Israelis or the bereaved families, with the Joint List choosing instead to amplify statements demanding a halt to what they labeled "genocide in Gaza."

Three years have passed since the barbaric October 7 massacre, in which Hamas and affiliated terror factions slaughtered hundreds of Israelis and abducted scores into the Gaza Strip. Yet as the Israeli public solemnly commemorated the memory of the murdered on Wednesday, the Knesset’s Arab factions chose a strikingly different path.

A comprehensive review by C14 of the official public accounts of Ra’am, the Joint List, and their respective senior candidates found that, as of publication, no tribute, memorial message for the victims, or expression of solidarity with bereaved families had been issued.

Former senior lawmaker Yoav Segalovich, who recently joined Ra’am, also posted no statement or acknowledgment marking the anniversary on his public platforms. This marked silence stands in sharp contrast to Segalovich’s previous public statements, in which he had explicitly and repeatedly condemned the October 7 atrocities and honored the memory of those murdered.

In contrast to honoring Israeli victims, the Joint List’s sole public messaging centered on condemning the ongoing military campaign in the Gaza Strip. The faction called for an end to what it termed “the genocide in Gaza,” without including any commemorative mention of the October 7 victims or extending comfort to their families. The faction framed its message around an alleged quote from Guy, a resident of Kibbutz Nahal Oz, stating: “I believe our only future lies with a new leadership based on a partnership between Jewish Israelis, Arabs, and Palestinians, because a perpetual war is unsustainable.”
