Freed hostage Rom Braslavski launched a scathing critique against the alternative October 7 memorial ceremony organized by the “Kumu” movement and select families of the victims, scheduled to take place on Wednesday at Tel Aviv’s Hayarkon Park. Braslavski claimed that his personal requests to address the crowd and commemorate his fallen Nova festival security teammates who were murdered on October 7 were repeatedly rejected.

He made his statements in response to former professional footballer Gili Vermouth, who shared a list of domestic television networks broadcasting the ceremony. After Vermouth pointedly posted: “Guess which is the only channel not broadcasting the ceremony, and why,” implying Channel 14, Breslavsky fired back: “Because they were never invited. Because it is a political ceremony.”
The captive survivor elaborated on the organizers’ conduct: “So political that they refused me (time and time again) the opportunity to speak and commemorate my fellow security team members who were murdered in front of my eyes at Nova.”
