The Cave of the Patriarchs has become a central prayer site during the intermediate days of Sukkot. Tens of thousands of worshippers have already arrived at the site during the holiday, and security forces are doing everything to ensure their safety. Here’s how the special operation by Israeli forces at the holy site looks.
A comprehensive security operation is being carried out by Israeli forces throughout the intermediate days of Sukkot. Its goal is to secure the tens of thousands of worshippers and visitors who have come to the Cave of the Patriarchs and various settlement events across the Judea sector. As part of the special deployment, forces in the field have been significantly reinforced, and a dedicated command center has been opened under the command of the Judea Brigade commander, coordinating the operational picture and enabling continuous command and rapid response to any development.

Alongside securing the celebrants and visitors, security forces continue routine operational activity to thwart terror and strengthen the defensive line in the area. Since the start of the holiday, heavy traffic has been recorded with over 50,000 worshippers already visiting the Cave of the Patriarchs. The forces deployed in the sector are expected to continue their heightened activity throughout the holiday to ensure all events proceed as planned without unusual incidents.
The Judea Brigade commander, Lt. Col. D., emphasized the importance of the mission and the deployment in the field: “We continue in full readiness. Tens of thousands of worshippers have arrived here, and several additional events have been secured. Our mission is to enable the events during the intermediate days of Sukkot and ensure that citizens can arrive and feel safe and calm.”
