Israeli Police forces, detectives from the Central District Border Police investigative unit (YMAR), and Israel Nature and Parks Authority rangers discovered two gazelles and two badgers being held illegally at a compound in the village of Shuweika, near Tulkarm, on Thursday night. A suspect, a Tulkarm resident in his 60s, was arrested.

2+The operation was part of “Return to Nature,” an investigation being conducted by the Central District Border Police investigative unit into suspected illegal possession of protected wildlife. Forces raided the compound and conducted a search, during which the animals were found. Nature and Parks Authority rangers performed the professional procedures required to sedate and capture the animals, which were transferred for further treatment by the authority. The arrested suspect was taken for further questioning at the Central District Border Police investigative unit.
