A significant milestone in strengthening and expanding Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria was finalized on Tuesday, when Finance Minister and Defense Minister Bezalel Smotrich, alongside Binyamin Governor and Yesha Council Chairman Israel Ganz, announced the formal publication of a new “blue line” municipal boundary. The delineated jurisdiction encompasses 1,665 dunams (approx. 411 acres) allocated for the communities of Kida and Yishuv HaDa’at in the Gush Shilo bloc.
1+The move follows Cabinet decisions over the past year that officially recognized both localities as independent, fully regularized Jewish communities, clearing the legal path to promote comprehensive master building plans (TABA).
The boundary demarcation culminates a decades-long effort by pioneering residents and constitutes a key pillar in the national framework to solidify and expand Jewish life across the region. Kida was founded in 2003 as part of the young settlement movement and endured protracted administrative and legal hurdles before receiving official Cabinet recognition as an independent community in December 2025. Yishuv HaDa’at was established in 2001 as an agricultural farm before developing into a residential community, receiving formal independent status in March 2026. Urban planning authorities are already advancing an initial master plan projecting over 1,000 new residential units across the two communities.
1+Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich welcomed the development, emphasizing that Kida and Yishuv HaDa’at persevered with determination through roughly 25 years of waiting for the Israeli government to advance their full regularization. Smotrich noted that, as part of the broader national policy of regularizing young communities in recent years, the government has completed the process here as well, with the newly published boundary serving as a powerful catalyst for long-term demographic and infrastructural growth.
Binyamin Governor Israel Ganz added that both communities represent trailblazing initiatives built over more than two decades of dedicated conviction. The vision is now materializing as they transition into fully regulated, flourishing towns as part of the development transforming the entire Gush Shilo region.
