Susan Sarandon, the 79-year-old American actress best known for “Thelma & Louise” and “Dead Man Walking,” has found a new reason to complain about Hollywood. At the Venice Film Festival, the actress claimed she’s still losing roles because of her opposition to Israel.

According to Sarandon, there are agencies warning producers not to hire her. “They’ve still taken films away from me recently,” she said, accusing power players in the industry of continuing to block her from work. Because in her view, if a role disappears, the problem must be Hollywood.
Susan Sarandon’s Short Memory
But the story gets less dramatic when you look back. In 2023, Sarandon participated in pro-‘Palestinian’ events shortly after the October 7 massacre. At one rally, she said that Jews who are afraid during this time are “getting a taste” of what Muslims feel in the United States.
The comment sparked outrage, and that same year the talent agency UTA dropped her as a client. So when Sarandon presents herself today as someone Hollywood simply decided to silence because of her views, it might be worth remembering that words have consequences.

“I Found My People”
Despite everything, Sarandon claims she is actually happy. According to her, she feels wanted in the world and has already “found her people.” So, despite Hollywood not rushing to hire her, stages, microphones, and applause are still in abundant supply.
