A fire broke out during Shabbat at a synagogue in Jerusalem’s Shmuel HaNavi neighborhood. Firefighters who rushed to the scene rescued several Torah scrolls during the firefighting operation.

Israel’s Fire and Rescue Services received a call to its 102 emergency hotline reporting the fire. Firefighting crews from stations in the Nation’s Campus area were dispatched to the scene. The teams worked to extinguish the flames and search through the building. The incident ended with no casualties. The synagogue sustained smoke damage.
