The United States struck Iran today (Tuesday), the second time this week after more than a month without attacks. Trump wrote: “The United States, at this very moment, is attacking Iranian targets near the Strait of Hormuz. The strikes are extensive and powerful, and they come in response to the failed Iranian attempt to lay naval mines in the Strait… as well as the firing of eight missiles by the Iranians toward our military base in Jordan—all were successfully intercepted.” He added, “But it will not be the BIGGEST attack of all, that’s waiting in the wings, and when it’s over there will be very little left of the Islamic Republic of Iran!.”
Now, the regime has released a video claiming that President Trump will have a fate similar to President Carter—who suffered a political defeat following the hostage crisis in Iran. In the video, Iran returned to Trump’s words from June when he said he doesn’t want to be Carter. The regime then added that Carter also attacked Kharg Island and then backed down, just as Trump allegedly did. The video further claimed that Trump, like Carter, simply failed to subdue Iran.
The Iran hostage crisis occurred shortly after the Islamic Revolution. During it, 52 American diplomats and citizens were held hostage in Tehran by the Islamic regime for a period of one year and three months. The Iranians were willing to release the citizens in exchange for the head of Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi—who fled to the U.S. after the revolution.
