New details were revealed today (Tuesday) about the unusual activity in Gaza: A senior Hamas figure captured during the operation is the head of the terrorist organization’s general security. Footage from the incident shows the van in which the senior terrorist was being transported fleeing the area, while intense activity was underway in the area and the Air Force was providing cover from the sky.
As we first reported, a Gazan militia that usually collaborates with Israel operated in western Gaza City against a target affiliated with Hamas. During the operation, the force was exposed and an exchange of fire developed at the scene. The activity ended successfully, and according to reports in the Gaza Strip, the Air Force attacked the area and helped the militia members escape the scene.
The incident took place in an area known as “Al-Kitab” in western Gaza City. Initially, different versions were circulated on Gazan channels regarding the identity of the force: some claimed that it was a special Israeli unit, while other sources reported that it was members of a militia that opposes Hamas and works in collaboration with Israel.
According to some reports in the Gaza Strip, the militiamen arrived at the scene in a vehicle used to transport vegetables. At some point, they were exposed by Hamas terrorists, and as a result, an exchange of fire began. After the exposure, additional terrorists arrived at the scene, and two vehicles approaching the scene were hit by missiles.
At the same time, extensive air activity was recorded over western Gaza City. Many drones were operating in the area, and helicopters were seen from the west of the city, while heavy explosions were heard in the area and even in the surrounding communities. According to Arab reports, about 18 airstrikes were carried out during the event.
