Israel's security agency confirms the prime minister's son was urgently evacuated from Miami after intelligence indicated an Iranian threat to his life. Iranian-linked operatives were reportedly already in the area tracking his movements.

The Shin Bet confirmed today (Saturday) that Yair Netanyahu, the son of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, was evacuated from Miami following an Iranian threat on his life. The confirmation comes after it was reported in the United States in recent days that Israeli intelligence had discovered a plan in December 2025 to harm him while he was in South Florida. According to the reports, the concern was real after Iranian officials were already in the area and were monitoring his whereabouts and movements, and as a result, he was required to leave immediately and return to Israel.

The Shin Bet confirms that Yair Netanyahu was removed from the Miami area following an Iranian threat to his life. This also confirms details revealed this week in reports in the United States, according to which the Prime Minister’s eldest son was the target of an Iranian plan while he was living in Hollandale Beach in South Florida, near Miami.

According to the report published on Newsmax, Israeli intelligence discovered information about the plan in December 2025. A source involved in the affair claimed that it was estimated that Iranian operatives were already in the Miami area and were monitoring Netanyahu Jr.’s home, the places he used to go, and his movements. Following the information, an urgent alert was sent to the American authorities.

Due to the severity of the threat, Yair Netanyahu was instructed to leave Florida immediately. According to reports, the decision was made so quickly that he left the place without taking his personal belongings and urgently returned to Israel. He has been living in Israel since then.

The affair was revealed after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told Channel 14 in an exclusive interview that Iran had attempted to assassinate one of his sons, but at that point he refrained from revealing whether it was Yair or Avner. “Iran has marked one of my sons. Iran tried to kill him, tried to murder one of my sons,” Netanyahu said. He later explained that the threat illustrates for him why security around his family members is necessary: ”Iran tried to murder one of my sons, and therefore this security is not a luxury. Without it – they will succeed.”
