According to the report, the Iranian plot was hatched while Yair was living in South Florida, which adds a new and significant layer to the Prime Minister’s revelations this week. Netanyahu noted in an interview that Tehran had attempted to assassinate one of his children but refused to identify which of the two sons in question – Yair or Avner – and said: “There is something unbelievable here. Iran attempted to assassinate one of my sons.” Now, US law enforcement sources confirm that Yair was the target at the heart of the Iranian terror plan.
According to the report, information about the plot reached Israeli intelligence as early as last December, when an urgent alert was transmitted to American authorities. According to the sources, Iranian agents and operatives were already “on the ground” in the Miami area, conducting surveillance and observations of Yair Netanyahu’s residence and movements in the town of Hallandale Beach.
Given the immediate danger to his life, Yair was instructed to leave the area immediately.
