The IDF and Shin Bet struck and destroyed five Hamas weapons caches and a rocket launch site Monday in a series of strikes across the Gaza Strip. According to a joint statement from the IDF and Shin Bet, the depots stored rockets, weapons, explosives, grenades, and other combat equipment that Hamas terrorists used to advance terror operations against Israeli forces in Gaza.
The caches were built inside mosques and alongside humanitarian infrastructure, the statement said. The IDF and Shin Bet called it another example of Hamas using civilian infrastructure—including mosques and humanitarian facilities—in violation of international law and exploiting the civilian population. Security forces in Southern Command are deployed across the area in accordance with the ceasefire agreement and will continue operating to remove any immediate threats. The IDF and Shin Bet said they will act against terrorist activity targeting Israeli civilians and to protect their security.
