The IDF and Shin Bet announced the successful destruction of two Hamas weapons depots situated in the Shati and Deir al-Balah sectors of the Gaza Strip. According to the joint military statement, the depots stored dozens of Kalashnikov rifles, ammunition magazines, and specialized military gear. Defense officials revealed that the armaments were deliberately stashed inside two separate mosques, which served as operational hideouts and active shelter for Hamas terror operatives.

The precision strikes were executed following targeted advance evacuation warnings issued to the civilian population to minimize collateral harm. The IDF confirmed that the operations utilized precision-guided munitions alongside persistent aerial surveillance. According to the IDF and Shin Bet, the incident serves as yet another clear example of Hamas’s systematic abuse of civilian and religious infrastructure—specifically mosques—to orchestrate and execute terror plots against IDF combat forces operating along the Yellow Line and against Israeli civilians.

The military emphasized that Southern Command forces remain fully deployed throughout the sector in accordance with operational frameworks, maintaining zero tolerance and continuing to act decisively to eliminate any immediate threat.
