An M16 rifle, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, 11 magazines and more than 100,000 shekels (~$34,000) in cash were seized during a search in recent days at a home in the village of Qalil, near Shechem [Nablus]. Two local residents were arrested and taken for questioning at the Ariel police station.

The operation was carried out following intelligence received by the Judea and Samaria District Police. Officers from the Ariel station in the Samaria region directed IDF forces from the Samaria Brigade to the house where the weapons were believed to be held. During the search, forces found the M16 rifle, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, and 11 magazines. Alongside the weapons, they also discovered more than 100,000 shekels in cash, which was seized as part of the operation.

The two suspects, residents of the village, were arrested on the spot and transferred for further questioning at the Ariel station. The investigation is examining the source of the weapons, ammunition, and cash, the circumstances of their possession, and their possible connection to criminal or security-related activity.
